The Islam bit is news to me. For any of the sects.

It is pretty much confined to the levante where he spent much of his time before death. His tomb was supposedly located in a Syrian mosque of Nabi Jurjis and this fact was cited by Isis in its destruction of the mosque along with other mosques in Syria that were shared holy sites of Christians and Muslims.

But what would shock many perhaps on both sides is just how similar Christianity and Islam are. The biggest difference is whether you believe Jesus was a prophet or the son of GHod. Other significant differences pretty much come down to historical interpretation of the same scriptures.

I've always wanted to know what the culture and heritage actually is. Is it a list of things? I mean I was born here but I'm not aware of the cultural aspects that are not being embraced that should be. And why it's offensive if someone does not. As long as they don't break the law of course.

Let's put it this way, if you were Christian or Jewish and got taken over by Isis you could pay a "tax" to be left alone as they still considered you "children of the book". One thing that isn't talked about is how more violent Muslims, Christians and Jews are towards different versions of their own than they are towards each other. You only have to look at the Catholic vs Protestant and Sunni vs Shia gonads to see that...

I'd see it as the twin evils of the extreme accumulation of wealth by the super-rich (middle classes being pushed towards minimum wage levels) and the anti-social behaviours constructed into the core of social media. Until they are addressed by a smarter and more socially ambitious government, it's only going to keep getting worse
