i still think gazza's got it in him to be a great keeper. hopeful he will learn from this one moment of madness.

speaking of which - what's in the water that we're feeding our boys? loris, son, gazza etc... seems to be spreading !

Among other things, the data indicates that Lloris was the best shot stopper in the league this season and Gazzaniga the worst! (Though small sample size obviously, and doesn’t say anything about Hugo’s howlers). Still, interesting to see the data strongly support most fans’ perception that Lloris’ shot stopping is way better than Gazza’s.

Yeah, nowhere near good enough. Though didnt we only pay something like £500k for him? Another example of us gradually weakening the squad

We need a better back-up keeper, though realistically we have far higher priorities

It’s a shame as some of his game is excellent, if he and Hugo were merged that would be a decent keeper, or one who was brick at everything.

Vorm was pretty good for us overall but I worry he’s past it now, his last game for us was a shocker as I recall and it’s a red flag that he wasn’t signed up by another club.

Yeah it's probably a fair point on Vorm. I just can't believe he'd be any worse than Gazzaniga but I didn't think Dier could be any worse than our midfielders or Foyth could be any worse than our defenders. Absence makes the eyes grow more rose-tinted I guess. From the Bruce Lee impersonation to tonight's tree impersonation, Gazza just isn't at the races though.
 
Sorry, just not good enough for what we need. Way too slow getting down and reminds me of Paul Robinson in that he lets in a lot of goals you think "maybe he could have saved that"

Robinson just let in anything from distance later in his career with us (I always wondered if it was an eyesight issue)

Gazza is a decent keeper with above average distribution, nothing more.

The better keepers have the ability to make a save they shouldn't, the types that keep you the points. Honestly if Lloris hadn't been injured I could see us having won/drawn a couple more games.

It's a giant step up to the first team, I've only seen 3 young keepers who I thought would make it Jennings, Shilton and Daines. Confidence is almost everything with keepers, we've seen what happens when they lose it with Brown, Daines, Clemence, Robinson and Gomes.

I agree, i think he is the next player in line to be on most fans brick list. He is not a long term answer to our problems but ( imo) neither is Lloris , funny how some fans have forgotten all the mistakes he has made over the last 12 months. We need to keep a eye on another keeper going forward.

He’s on the list because he throws one in every other game, even at Hugo’s worst he wasn’t doing this.

We do need another keeper, prob 2
