Can't remember spending that much money back in 1990 - then again, as a young kid back then, it was probably my mum paying for most of the stickers... 8-[

Must be so much easier to swap these days though, with Facebook and everything. I grew up in a tiny village of less than 1000 people, and went to a school with less than 30 pupils - the most sought after cards were few and far between. I seem to remember Gullit, Van Basten and Klinsmann were rare finds. Oh the days!

Fascinating but very misleading. For a start, it's not accounting for the swaps you might manage from your duplicates. And no one collects stickers totally like this, even back in the day you still had the option to send off for the last 50. There probability of hitting the last few gets ridiculous.... if you think about it, you have a one in 635 chance of picking the last sticker, or pack wise that means you have a 1 in 127 chance of picking finding your card in a pack. That's where these ridiculous numbers come from.

I've used online swaps to help me and I have 2 to get. I've also sold off my swap pile at face value a couple of times. So now I have just 90 swaps which I will do the same for meaning a net spend of exactly the price of a full sticker album.
