I will say though, it isn't just a case of people booing because they are unhappy with AVB (although I do agree that fans are worried he will struggle like he did at Chelsea), Spurs fans have booed the team at half time and full time during the last 5 seasons for example, especially when playing at home to teams like Wolves, Stoke, Wigan etc. It isn't just Spurs fans, most fans will get on the team's/manager's back if the team aren't beating a team they should be beating at home.

I was there. I will tell you what happened. The fans invaded the pitch and would not leave until the players came out on to the directors box and took a standing ovation! A fudging standing ovation. Pat Jennings said the players couldn't believe it - he said you would have thought Spurs had just won the title, not just been relegated. Proper fans and proper support and puts the majority of those that turn up at the Lane these days to shame. It is probably that day more than any other that makes me proud to be a Yid. Can you imagine that ever happening again? No, nor can I.

If you don't want to pay your good money and travel x hours to watch players not give a fudge then don't bother. Stay at home, save your money and give your ticket to someone more deserving. You're there to watch a contest, not a guaranteed Spurs win. Just don't then call yourself a Spurs supporter.

Thing is in those day fans paid 50p or thereabouts to get in. Nowadays some fans are forking out upwards of £50-00, therefore you get correspondingrise in expectation.

You know I always find comments like "don't call yourself a Spurs fan" irritating. Spurs fans have had to put up with soo much brick over the years with the occasional slither of glory (2008 Carling Cup one of those which is why I will always have a soft spot for Ramos). Hardly surprising some get angry, don't blame them at all. True fans can't leave and support another club it's in your blood!

So, that has to be the worst moment for this club in the last 50 years then (on the pitch anyway)? And the supporters were already thinking positively and saying that the club will once again return to the top division. That is SUPPORT, not booing your team at half-time against Norwich City. I can't believe people are trying to justify booing. "Oh I want to let my frustration out" "I pay the money so I can say what I want" - get a fudging grip, we all do. Just save it until you get out of the ground.
Going to football is about catching up with friends, enjoying yourself, thinking up witty songs, unbridle passion for your club/hatred for our foes, supporting the club through thick and thin.
Could you imagine what the crowd would be like if we were bought out by a billionaire?

Yep, it's a mystery. These ****s probably don't get any pleasure in their lives though - never get a chance to smell the roses, stare at the stars or take their missus out for a romantic meal. They're just ****s who are happy trudging along in life and being miserable about everything!

I think we had more reasons to have heightened expectations than anyone does these days. Don't you?

I've had more games ruined for me by jack in the boxes who spend half the game in and out of their seat to and from the bog and bar than I have by someone occasionally voicing their displeasure.
Someone who'll turn up on time, soberish and support the team for ninety minutes-not sixty five. You get bed blockers in hospitals and seat blockers at WHL, those who want the whole getting tinkled with your mates and singing matchday experience without having to bother with the triviality of watching more than two thirds of the match.

i have absolutely no idea what kind of point robspur is trying to make, but his somewhat imbecilic reasoning would also explain the kind of mentality you would require to actually believe it's acceptable to boo the team you 'support'..
to believe you have the RIGHT to influence the team in a negative manor, out of some self-entitled, GHod-given right that because you pay money for something that means you are allowed to act like an absolute cretin.

No, it was the other way round - Ghaly threw his shirt to the floor because he was beeing booed by his own fans for misplacing passes. And this is a guy who got his fudging teeth kicked out and still came back onto the pitch to play for his team. That's why I've always been absolutely fine with him throwing his shirt down - totally understandable. It's those ****ish fans whose behaviour was unacceptable.
