United fans responding to the news of Valencia signing a contract extension:

51m no chance worth alot more imo

Apparently there is a release clause in his contract that states if Barca or Madrid come in for him then he will be allowed to leave for £52m. If anyone else comes in for him the release clause is £70m.

If we are classing the Mata money for the oncoming season then they were well and truly in the red last year.
That's not how it works.

Buying a player is just turning cash into an asset - as far as profit and loss are concerned it's neutral. The losses are made up of player amortisation (over the length of their contract) and wages. If a player is sold at less than amortised value then there's an extra loss, if more then a gain.

Freddy Adu has joined Norwegian club Stabæk on trial. They're currently coached by former US national team coach Bob Bradley, father of Michael Bradley.

I will enjoy this one because

- firstly it will hurt Pool's chances immensely
- second for all the "Levy should do like Pool" crowd that live in their bubble of "you can just make a player stay"

let's hope it's Madrid rather than Barca so Marca can do their bit and we'll see how much of the bale stuff was us being paranoid

As was reported by Spanish paper AS last weekend, the Radamel Falcao to Real Madrid link is looking increasingly legit.

BeIN Sports France report tonight that the Colombian striker has reached an agreement to join Real Madrid this summer, and that the move will be formally announced once the World Cup finishes.

Falcao, currently in Miami on holidays with his family, is all set to leave Monaco, the club he joined in a third party move from Atletico Madrid last summer.

BeIN and AS claim the player has told his agent Jorge Mendes that it is his dream to join Real Madrid, and that Los Blancos are the only club he would listen to offers for.

And now, it seems, he’s given his word to move to the Bernabeu for next season.
