OMT - Tottenham v FC Basel, EL QF 2nd Leg

:ross: At least that comment cheered me up!!

Steff too will also claim he had a great game and really put his heart into the match.

A pathetic comment. We've just list a penalty shoot-out you tiny, grubby, classless and obviously fake supporting little man.

Anyone else a little disappointed with Freidel on the first penalty? Went the right way and didn't attempt to save it. Might not have made a difference, but poor goalkeeping.

Little harsh I feel, it was right in the corner and hit very hard

7 consecutive losses in penalty shootouts point to something much deeper than luck, though.

Ah, well. I'd hoped Brad would be able to finally save a penalty after twenty-three years playing professionally, but hey, that's how the cookie crumbles.

Ade, though....Christ, Ade.

@Lord_Sugar: AVB should be fired.no tactics.Been lucky up till now with results.how can he put Huddleston as pen taker. Then Adebayor you knew would

fudge off you ****.

Heart doesnt win you football matches. We simply wernt good enough over the two legs. We wernt creative enough, no movement, sloppy goals. These two games just backed up that we have no plan b, AVB is not as tactically astute as we thought, our squad players are not good enough. Simply, we are no better off than under Redknapp.

Well...this either is the pin prick in our cushion or its the fuel to come back in 10 days fit, fast and ready to stay in the top 4...brave effort...well done for that lads...

Oh for gods sake, get a fudging grip !

Its obvious you dont actually believe any of this crap yourself.

Brilliant effort in extra-time. Excellent to get the required result today to even take us to ET & penalties, without Kaboul, Sandro, Bale, Lennon and Defoe. That 5 minutes at WHL lost us the tie.

I said we'd lose 4-1 or 4-2 on pens. I don't know what it is but our penalty taking is pathetic. Don't know how to change it tbh.

I really hope AVB can pick the players up now because that's a sickening way of going out.

Gary Lineker, BBC Sport
"Switched to the golf and Adebayor's ball has just landed on the 13th green. He's sure to miss the putt."

heh

We won only four games in the Europa League all year, so I don't really think we played well for most of the campaign, which is worrying considering AVB played a strong side throughout which may have tired the players out for the season. A QF finish was about right for us.

We've also only won one match in our last seven, so I think the pin prick already happened! We need to band aid up that hole fast if we are to get top four

its hard to not wish that your best goalie (who saved a penalty against Spain recently) was involved in the penalties.
Their penalties were good, but it'll still be nice to have Hugo playing week in week out next year.
