*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v The Cottagers ***

I don't recall seeing Bournemouth defenders sprinting back to their goal when the ball is played behind their line. It appears far more controlled. They are well covered by their DMs.That may be indicated by the number of appearances made by Zabarnyi and Huijsen this season compared to our main CBs.
You forgot to add playing once a week
That’s the key that Finney is talking about

It’s possible we can win a trophy, yes
The league form has no real bearing on that other than keeper the players fit
Playing in Europe hurts league form, rather than benefits it so it makes sense to use one to help the other
Pool today look so tired. They haven’t looked like that all season, big mid week they had their hardest game of the season. That’s a team with minimal injuries and a string conservative way of playing
Arsenal and Chelsea also limped today (haven’t seen the game)
So if we want to give the Europe our best shot and we can’t affect the league position significantly, it makes sense to do we’re doing

You’ve been very loyal to Ange all season. I’m interested where you are on whether Ange deserves another season or not? And whether you think his system is contributing to our bad form and results? Because you’ve been very adamant that the majority of the goals we have conceded have been because of individual mistakes rather than down to the way we play.

Our CBs were injured fairly early on in the season (as they were last season playing once a week) so that's not really relevant now.
We have barely played the same CBS game after game due to injuries
That’s the reality
No team wants to do the changes we have made game after game
I don’t think Bournemouth or any team would thrive playing a midfielder at CB or the 5th choice CB (formerly a left back)
And that’s just at CB of course

There really wasn't much between the teams in this one. Even game between two teams that are pretty much on the same level. Fulham took their chances and we didn't, simple as that

I am well aware of that. But in both seasons that Ange has been here, our main CBs have been injured early on. That's not just down to the number of games played.

And I think it's fair to compare with Bournemouth's CB situation if the proposition is that Iraola's system is likely to give us the same issues with injuries as Ange's.

You said their CBS have ads a high jun er of appearances. I don’t think they would have if they were playing twice a week
They have not had or do that so far, and we have
What has happened is that playing once a week has damaged their squad depth a lot

Solanke played every league game for Bournemouth last season too. Had 2-3 spells out with injuries with us in one season.

Well the CBs have got through a lot of games uninjured so far. And we have more rotation options at Spurs too.

We played once a week last season and Postecoglou used that as an excuse mate - saying we weren't playing enough which is why the players looked rusty and we were struggling all the time. Now two games a week is also apparently a problem for him.

Iraola is managing one game a week, better than Postecoglou did. Whether that extends to two games a week is of course TBD, but I think he has more promise of mastering it than our chap.

They have, playing once a week
Huijsen wasn’t even first choice at the start of the season
The more games they are okaying now, the worse their form is getting results wise

We can’t make so many changes and expect the team to find any level of consistency. How many teams make 6 or 7 changes from one match to the next and can expect the team to play at anywhere close to best level? We need to find consistency right now to improve and yet because players are finding their fitness and we don’t want to overplay others we make huge changes and then look all over the place.

We need a core team and then make two or three changes but right now it seems that we’re not in a position to do that. So we will struggle to find any consistency or stability.

They only got promoted to the premier league last season. They have 10 points more than us this season on a fraction of the budget.

If that is poor wtf are we?
Yes, we are poor, but there are always small teams that overperform and big teams that underperform in any given season. This season we happened to be the big team that underperformed. That's really all there is to it and more than likely due to the manager and to the fact that we are rebuilding. I wouldn't draw any more conclusions than that.
