*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v The Cottagers ***

Both Davies and Gray have played plenty at CB. Protecting Romero and VdV for the Europa laeague is the right call. Because he's right on this call doesn't mean he'd enough. Likewise the fact he's not good enough doesn't mean every decision he makes is wrong.

VDV wasn't called up to the Dutch squad, so now has a break.

So do we keep him on the bench until the next Europa league game?

This was a terrible decision, he’s been whinging all season about not having fit central defenders and when he has them he doesn’t use them.We have an international break. If Ange has so little faith in his players fitness for a game which is in April then that shocking.
VDV isn’t even in the Dutch squad so has plenty of recuperation time over the next two weeks.

It’s a terrible decision at 0-0 to play with no centre halves given what an absolute shambles we are defensively and one which cost us the game

It’s a very risky call to do that IMO. He’s barely played since December, can be a little bit clumsy so to expect him to come in, not be match fit and do well is a big big ask. He’s got to play some games before that or else we’re asking for trouble IMO.
