+++ OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Sunderland 12th April 2026 +++

As a team, right now, we are not. And we haven’t been for over a year, maybe two.

But it’s absolutely unprecedented for a team comprised of this many internationals who were bought for this much money (even in relative terms) to go 15-20 games without a few wins. It’s beyond mind boggling when you sit and think about it.

That’s Sunderland in 2003 or Derby in 2008 levels. We are not nearly that bad.

I GENUINELY need to find some positives from today and moving forward. I may sound delusional but I’m fighting against blind faith here at the minute. I think we were unlucky with the deflection for the goal and obviously the ref was a complete flange. Another must win on Saturday and a week for RDZ to show us why we went for him. @thfcsteff you need to resurrect the positivity thread!
Defensively, we were decent. Keep the back 4 plus Danso fit and that gives a bit of (relative) solidity. I didn’t think Sunderland were great but they didn’t create a huge amount of good chances.

On the flip side, we were dogbrick going forward. RdZ has a reputation for attacking football. If he can find some sort of combination that’ll deliver goals, we’ll be okay. If he can’t, we’re toast.

He needs players passing into the attacking thirds so much better
Looking at who we’re playing I don’t see anyone digging in like Sunderland do (credit to them) but that doesn’t matter if we can’t create

We've given ourselves no margin of error now, we need wins, draws not enough. And we seem incapable of grinding out results. I think we need two up front in every game to maximise threat in the opponents' box We have to play percentages; lots of shots and people in the box to feed on rebounds etc.

I haven’t blamed him or done it in isolation. I’ve said it’s the cowards in charge who are to blame because they left him in charge to fester. If you don’t fix your issues early they take grip and become a fixture
Yeah, but at the same time, we've had a bad reputation for not being patient with managers so there was probably a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation going on. And it's far from cheap firing managers mid-contract, so you can't do that 2-3 times a season.

But there's no culprit here. You cannot blame a manager for not having the tools, but you cannot wait for ages for him to turn a rock into gold without knowing how to do it either. This is just a proper brick show season where the stars have aligned with the FA to see Spurs relegated, because Spurs don't do proactive.

Not when Gallagher and Muani are played instead. No matter how poorly you rate Simons, surely you don’t rate him that poorly?!

I rate and have defended Xavi all seaosn

But lets get it straight, RDZ is the third manager not to fancy him

So either we are all right that he is class OR he isn't showing enough in training. THe idea a manager who wants to keep a team up isn't picking his best player is nonsense, there must be more to it

I’m not blaming him
The culprit is the people in charge
You don’t need 2 or 3 managers a season if you get it right
You do also need to have conviction to make tough calls
They haven’t got any of it right

Next week is massive given the fixtures.

We 100% also have a must win game at home to Leeds....we need to keep them in the mix... especially as they have West Ham last game of the season

The FA have played no part in where we are.

Today looked like every other game this season.....we are going down.....
I thought first half there were certain things stylisticly that looked different, I felt we wanted the ball more and we looked alright. 2nd was awful though and definitely what we’d been seeing from Frank all season and the few games Tudor had.

Yep, There was no player with any x factor.. no Maddison, Deki, Kudus, Odobert, even Tel and Xavi on the bench. If we want to try and be solid and get a lucky goal from a set piece then we didnt need to go through all this Tudor and RDZ business.

I was expecting more, not some magical passing improvement overnight but a bit more will to win.

Still some games left, but time is running out. RDZ needs to work hard between each of these games to find some kind of tune out of what he has available

Every stat I see just screams relegation... quite frankly, we deserve it

Despite churning through 4 managers over the past 24 months we’ve averaged less than 1 point per game for 2 entire seasons worth of PL games, a tally which is worse than every other club in the top flight except Wolves… truly an omnishambles by the hierarchy and we seem destined to reap what they’ve sowed!

Since April 2024:

Played 76
Won 20 Drawn 14 Lost 42 For 113 Against 128 Diff -15 Points per Game 0.9
