True but we also knew that Eriksen has form for running down his contract (as he did at Ajax) and a decent Director of Football would’ve probably foresaw this happening and cashed in on him.

Even if Grealish and Maddison were flops for us at least we’d have made a tidy profit on Eriksen plus they’d still have resale value, now we’re getting nothing for or from Eriksen whilst Ndombele plus Lo Celso both unlikely to be at peak Eriksen level until next season at earliest.
