Its more we don't have anyone else - Maddison and Kulu injured, Gallagher can't control or pass.
I thought Bergvall was decent driving and trying to make passes in that area against Charlton. But I'd imagine all 3 CMs rotating a bit.

Gray is still learning his trade, he's proved that he's a great team player and done a job all over the field. I don't think he has the mindset to be a defender and has too much to offer to be wasted there. Manager needs to define a position for him or he might disappear down the Paul Madeley rabbit hole.
He reminds me of Mabbutt and Perryman who sacrificed their careers to help the team both were outstanding midfield players.

Same. I still think Danso and VDV is our best pairing, compliment each other well.
I hope JPVH doesn't get picked ahead of Danso purely because of his price tag (or hopefully he improves and becomes clear first choice, but not atm).

Tbf, i think JPVH gets packed atm because of his passing abilities and the fact that (atm) De Zerbi is valuing that ahead of the raw defensive power of Danso. The last few minutes of our game vs Brighton in April bring some interesting irony here eh...

Botman and Thiaw are both 6’ 4” for starters and will be a real danger from set pieces. They’ve still got Woltemeade too (6’ 6”).
