Stretch the play, get in behind the defence and cut it back for runners.

This much is obvious... why does AVB not see this?

Genuine question, why are AVB's tactics so strange? Why do we compress the space, players continually driving into traffic and congestion?
 
....That's the kind of opportunity we desperately need to take advantage of, when someone's out of position.

Is Lamela going to be the biggest flop in the history of football? 32 million for a young attacker, 0:0 at home to Hull and he's miles away from getting on.

Instead we have Townsend and Lennon. 32 fking million? I'd never heard of the guy before we signed him but wtf????

AVB has sorted us out defensively and now we can work on the attacking part of our game. I notice good runs not being spotted by the man with the ball and final passes being just off. These things will improve.

Yes, it is. Are you seriously suggesting that the manager selects a formation based on what is cool rather than what he thinks will be most effective? What about when we played 4-4-2 last season? Or were retro formations in fashion for a short period then.
