I think more ball playing CM are needed, paulinho and sandro are good at wining the ball back, but i don't know if overly tehnically gifted. One idea would be to bring in Eriksen and take one of them out.

pathetic decision to give him his 3rd game in a week. Simply not needed in a game like this, Dembele would have been useful.

I thought he was excellent. Yeah, a couple of slips but he won so much ball in the middle/transitioning.

64% of play has been down the right hand side. I think that's for both sides but still, a big reflection that Townsend is our go to plan today. Not been working, we need to make a change at half time but will AVB have the right answer?

I agree. At Home, against Hull, we should be focusing on creating and converting chances. Not on shoring up the defence and winning the ball back. One of Paulinho/Sandro is enough.
 
Not a big fan of Holtby, cant really remember any PL match he has been really Good in. Eriksen is a much better attacking player than Holtby for me.
 
Dembele -> Sandro
Eriksen -> Holtby

and either

Defoe -> Soldado
Sigurdsson -> Lennon

will be the subs I imagine.
 
Poor poor half. What to do boys? Plenty of options on the bench. I think Sandro stays on the pitch. If we swap him for Dembele, I bet we will get caught on the counter.

No one showing the ability to get the ball wide. We need Eriksen on the pitch. Possibly Siggy to add some invention. Townsend looks good because he comes deep to pick up the ball but it's ineffective. I think Lennon on the right, Siggy left, Eriksen for either Paulinho or Holtby.

I think that's the worrying thing - the fact we look absolutely miles away. There's just nothing. I don't understand what is supposed to be happening on the pitch: we look to have zero creativity whilst conceding a fair few chances at the other end.

I was convinced AVB would bring a stable formation and discernible tactics running through the squad.

At the risk of..... I wanted Harry out, because it mainly ****ed me off that we were so lopsided and one injury completely wrecked our style and caused drama. I thought we played to less than the sum of our parts, but AVB so far has been the antithesis of everything I think we were all hoping for.

I cant believe how all at sea we look every week. We very very rarely convinced, and pretty soon were going to start getting found out. If teams start going for our throats we could have real problems. Were getting by on reputation of individual players, and AVB is avoiding real pressure because of his name (IMO).

It really seems that bad things could be round the corner to me.
 
Haven't clicked yet, we hardly stretch them, build up is too slow. We look as if we can get caught out at the back. We need a goal to settle us and kick on, otherwise we struggle to get back in a game. Dembele for Sandro would be in order, eriksen for holtby perhaps.
 
Not so much afraid of Sandro's poor play leading to a goal against,
more concerned it might lead to another yellow.
Think we'll see Dembele on for him soon.

This. Hull have employed the Big Sam tactic (read: seven players in one back line) and have both effectively isolated us and actually threatened us. Again, we can't deal with it.

Sigh. For GHod's sake lads, someone make an unexpected run, or a clever pass, or ANYTHING at all that isn't immediately blindingly obvious to everyone within a hundred yard radius. We don't release the ball quickly when we counter, and we get rid of the ball too hastily when we defend. Bad decision making all around.

Get Sandro off, he's on a yellow card and looks tired considering he's just been in fcuking Moldova. Do something unexpected, Andre: put Dembele on alongside Soldado and switch to a 4-4-2, or put Eriksen on for Walker and Defoe on for Sandro and switch to a 3-4-1-2. Otherwise, we will throw away more points against bottom-half sides.

Come on, Andre. Change it up, please.
 
I think it will be a bad idea to remove Sandro. You guys are focusing on him giving the ball away, but his positioning gives the defenders that extra cover.
