***OMT - Tottenham Hotspur v Arsenal***

In theory I agree that it's a no lose game. In practice not, a loss here will still be one of the more painful losses of any season. And for those who have already decided that Ange isn't the man I would expect most to be just as critical as in any other game and situation.

Son will run at his man if he gets the space to do so.
Son was woeful vs Liverpool. He's been a great servant and should have time off the bench, but no way should be starting XI anymore. 32 year old winger looking every bit like a 32 year old winger.

Midfield of Bissouma, Sarr and Bergvall should provide energy and intensity from the outset.
Bring Madders off the bench later on to hopefully exploit late gap drop in focus from them and a bit more space on the pitch. Being able to bring him, Richarlison and Moore off the bench does give us solid offensive options when required.
Hopefully Deki not having to play 90+ minutes at the weekend means he looks to have more in the tank than (understandably) in some recent games

I think he's been fatigued/exhausted in recent weeks/months and looked worse because of it. I think he can still start games, but not twice a week and probably should be prepared to get subbed more often than not when he does start.

It’s likely 6 spurs players will play in their first NLD tonight
That’s scary
Gray
Drago
Kinky
Bergvall
Spence
Moore
I think there's an argument for starting a more experienced player where possible for this reason. Maddison for example.
We need to get Micky Hazard in the changing room to give them the 'this is what it means' talk
Doubt them not caring or wanting it enough will be an issue. More dealing with the occasion, pressure, intensity and keeping composed. Particularly if we end up starting two of the teenagers.

I’d start Maddison
Just left wing
He plays down that side most of the game anyway

Admittedly, not feeling as confident as some this morning. I'll take the draw right now.

I'm a little bit worried about Dragusin as well. Have a feeling he keeps patching himself for his manager. We'll need his rugged defensive capabilities for this one.

Can see a fair few yellows and even a red happening tonight.

Worries about several of our defenders. Dragusin reportedly somewhat injured. Porro looking exhausted at times and playing 120 minutes against Tamworth. Gray literally an 18 year old kid playing "out of position" at centre back. Also Bissouma who is a bit inconsistent. Sarr not being in his best form recently. Need all of them close to their best really.

Fair few yellows seems almost nailed on. A red is also quite likely, always is in the NLD I think, but a lack of experience in some areas for us. Two managers feeling the pressure a bit. Injury problems for both sides with not all players being first choice. And Bergvall who "should have been sent off" not that long ago and a lot of noise around that, perhaps won't get much leeway for this one.

Yeah, it's the set piece thing we will need with Dragu. Have a feeling Arteta will have blockers on him as our main aerial presence to leave the other guys exposed. Gabriel and Saliba are a nuisance from set pieces.

Would be an argument for starting Bergvall over Maddison too perhaps. Bergvall seems way more useful at defending set pieces (so far). Perhaps also an argument for having Kulusevski wide right with Bergvall in midfield rather than Johnson on the wing.

Having Spence in there hopefully will also be useful.

I just hope we see a continuation of the defensive changes we have seen in the last two games.

Even against Tadcaster we held a more sensible defensive line.

Salah is the same age, though, and look at him this season.

Some of Son's form is about his place in the system for me - and he has undoubtedly been overplayed as well. Agree totally that a spell coming off the bench would be the ideal.

Important to get something out of tonight; a United win, coupled with a loss for us, would see us down to 14th, and beginning to look over our shoulders at Palace...and even Everton.

I fancy it'll finish 1-1 or 2-2.

And show that horrendous video of the one we do not mention...although nobody is old enough to even know what happened first time round. I REALLY WANT US TO DO THIS

Didn't see you had also mentioned Salah!

I do agree that the system isn't ideal for Son, but....He constantly gives away the ball, there is no excuse for that regardless of system and he has lost his pace. He never runs away from players anymore, and even when in a foot race with defenders he doesn't get away like he used to, its not just about the system - he has simply aged and lost that half a yard of explosiveness he had in his prime and because he's not technically gifted (other than his shooting technique, but that has also got worse) it shows up even more.....
