The only thing holding me back is @Bedfordspurs point about Pep and Klopp needing time that Jose probably hasn’t had yet. I want to argue against it but it’s a good point no matter how much I don’t like it.

I’m fuming tonight so can’t draw any conclusion on it right now.

Maybe he could have subbed both? The game is there to be won and if aurier has misbehaved and d’oh-erty was rubbish (as we all saw), remove both.

A manager who gets us performing greater than the sum of our parts has us challenging - especially in a season when the points total do be at the top is lower than usual.

We're currently performing lesser than the sum of our parts.

Better players than many have.... but weak in the centre of defence. Problem is that the manager doesn’t play on the front foot so the weakest part of the squad has to do a lot of the work,

Honestly, no. The football, even against City and Woolwich, goes against everything I believe in. I’m not seeing progression. Ndombele is the only thing I consistently enjoy about us and that’s because he just plays like a kid on the street.

I said it at the time but I could stomach the football with the results. Without the results it’s just brick isn’t it. And all that’s left is blind faith in a man who hasn’t really been convincing since the end of 2014.

The only caveat with that argument is teams that play negative, 1-0 and shut up shop football aren’t dominating football anymore. The CL used to be cagey in the latter stages, they’re goal fests now. Teams that play progressive, attacking football are ruling the roost now. Jose can’t adapt and play that style.

Well considering Jose has brought 8 players to the club and we’re still not better probably shows that the previous manager needed to be backed more... but that’s a whole other thread.

How about they don’t make mistakes, we make more in a game than other clubs make in a season.

All of our problems are in the heads of our players. We are still fudging sexy, it’s acceptable to fail here, until there are some actual consequences to fudging up that won’t change.

Or maybe the parts aren’t as good as they were anymore and are maybe worn out

Could have played the same system with Toby at CB and Davies left wing back
Maybe the concern was around Davies fitness and CB would mean less running

I defended Poch vs the players so totally understand anyone wanting to take aim at me over it but he didn't have the benefit of Ndombele, GLC, Doherty, Regulion, Rodon, Bergwijn, Vinicius, Bale, Hojberg - a LOT of squad turnover and added quality since then.
