Oliver Skipp

What kind of player is Skipp from appearances so far? Is he more Wanyama or Dembele? Or neither?

More of a Phil Jones.

For a Tottenham supporter you don't appear to watch many of our games or know much about our squad....

Ohh prissy comments eh; I haven't seen Skipp and missed the highlights for Saturdays' game. Can you forgive me oh GREAT Spurs and all knowing fan?
Actually, just an answer to my question, would suffice.
Thanks

So, what kind of player is Skipp, apart from one that pulls faces like Phil Jones?

Err, tidy? It was impossible to say much else against Burnley. He played deep, played safe, and didnt show any one outstanding quality - he was just all round decent.

Couldnt tell you what he was like, IE, Aggressive/attacking/forward playing/passer/dribbler etc - because there was just so little on show.

Not his fault, by any means, it was the game as much as anything.

Id not seen him before really, barring his sub appearance the other week, so am still waiting to find out myself!

Nah, only joking.:p
Cheers. I wonder if his emergence will allow us to make do until at least mid-January when hopefully we have an extra player bought or some of our walking wounded back from the treatment table. We shall see..

A bit too soon to say, for me.

He is 18, and has literally minutes - not games - under his belt. As amazing as it might be for him to be an instant first team regular, I think thats not really likely.

Hmmm. He's a mass of whirring arms and legs, isn't he? Looks like he did grow in confidence as the game went on, which is good. Can't judge a player on one performance, but hopefully we've got another good'un on our hands. We'll see how he fares as the season goes on. I don't think we'll see Skippoko central midfield against Dortmund!

My mind may be playing tricks on me, but I remember Winks having that Rolls-Royce quality even on debut...but then, so did Tom Carroll.

I don't like youngsters like Skipp making a direct entry into our first 11. They should be send out on loan to other clubs like Kane to get experience and prove their worth first. Regardless of how good youngsters are, their lack of experience at the highest level will always let them down.
