Oliver Skipp

Really liked seeing what Alex Tettey had to say about playing with Skipp over this last season at Norwich:

“There’s one mark he gets from me and that’s A+++. There’s not much to say, I don’t know how you can be 20 and play with the maturity and quality that he does. In any team, you need a guy like that. He’s the modern type player that you need. He is an incredible young footballer with a bright future ahead of him. He is a nice guy as well. What I like about him is he is not that loud, he smiles a lot but when he plays his football, he’s there.”

Would be very surprising that he's already agreed to a year on loan with them without knowing the new manager and his plans

They have asked for another year loan but nothing has been agreed either way.
Can’t say I’d blame Skipp wanting to get a year’s PL experience as a guaranteed first teamer for Norwich, rather than coming back to Spurs where he’ll get fewer starts and if his performances are anything less than peak Dembele then he’ll probably end up taking over from Winks as the boo-boys favourite target.

If we were in better shape, I would 100% think that another loan would be best for his development. Given where we are, I think that we need him and he'll get plenty of games.

Is playing for a club in turmoil with protesting fans harbouring expectations of CL + silverware as a minimum next season better than another year on loan at a club where he’s already a fan favourite and Skipp merely has to help them avoid relegation?

I think that was the point I was making. I think that another loan would undoubtedly be better for his development but I am not sure that we can afford that luxury given the amount of work that we need to do to the squad
