**Official Other Games Thread, Season 2012/13**

im talking about Fulham, Wigan and Norwich...........im simply saying that a top 4 chasing team cannot afford to drop points in these kind of games

we cannot rely on officials to do their job perfectly. Refs, linesmen make mistakes all the time

And so do footballers. That's why we lost those games. I was as tinkled off when we lost those as I am now.

But the fact we're only 1 point off 3rd proves that the teams 3rd and 4th have also dropped silly points that a top 4 chasing side shouldn't be dropping! So what do we do when noone deserves to finish top 4 because they've dropped silly points?

We start playing football on paper instead and just award the points to the team that come up with the best arguments for why they should win.

I would agree with this to a point although obviously teams do drop points against these teams. Arsenal/Chelsea have both done it this season themselves. It wouldn't be so close between us if they hadn't done.

Ultimately if we don't finish top four it is because we haven't performed consistently well over the course of the season. I don't think its time to throw in the towel yet though as there is literally one point behind the three of us as it stands. There is no reason why we can't be the ones to finish strongly. We certainly need to step up a level from where we have been playing the past few games though.

Arsenal dropped points against Norwich, Fulham, Villa, Swansea, Saints.

Chelsea dropped points against QPR twice, Swansea, Fulham, West Ham, Saints twice, Reading, Saudi Sportswashing Machine.

Load of gonads that top 4 chasing teams can't lose points in those types of games.

Apparently the same linesmen gave a corner instead of a clear goal kick when it was 10 yards in front of him which resulted in the penalty incident.

Also apparently the third goal was a foul on the defender and 2 yards offside, this one was 15 yards away from him.

It was the sort of pen that probably should be given, but and this is the salant point, they NEVER are. If they're gonna start giving pens for that then fine, we may get about 4 the next game, just make sure Ade's not on them!

Felt very dodgy this, similar to the Fulop game, But I have a feeling this was just incompetence or a closet gooner Lino, Fulop I really think was paid off though.

The one thing that the 2 games have in common is the linesman. Oh I do love a good conspiracy theory, wheres 1882 when you need him?

i agree, think the was proof of it in the non league here as well

I do not think it will ever come to light here, can you imagine if it did considering how much money is involved in the game in this country, do not think all those bookies adverts on t.v. would be allowed then.

Think i remember a ref was getting a contract to pave over the chelsea owners drive a few years ago, something like that anyway.

For me after the match at west ham on the last day of the season when the leagues club doctor decided our team were fit to play without seeing us and instead decided to stay in his executive box at highbury i always knew the game was rigged.

yeah what a coincidence..and the only time in our History we asked for a game to be called off.

Norwich midfielder Bradley Johnson:
"If the linesman can give a penalty from 40-yards away, how can he not see it was not a corner from five-yards!!!

"Was it a corner? NO!! Was it a pen? NO!! Was it offside? Yes!! To say I'm gutted today is an understatement."

Norwich winger Robert Snodgrass:
"Only so much you can say on here, but who cares, that linesman has cost us massively today, decisions change games."

If they go down, it will be a shame as Houghton has them well setup. I didn't watch the first half where they were apparently outplayed, but second half they created as many, if not more chances than Arse and defended well. Until the last 5 mins that is, when the game changed.

If these decisions were against a top team, more fuss would be made. Smaller clubs with smaller fan bases create less of a stir. But they have a right to be tinkled off. At a crucial time, the linesman/ assistant got a lot wrong. It was a 5 minute spell of decisions that went against Norwich and turned the game.

Would be nice to know who the linesman is and do a search to see which team he supports. We thave not been awarded one pen and yet he gives a pen from some distance away when the ref who was nearer didn't. May well be legit pen but it was by a lino with telescopic vision. We will not be getting 4th regardless of effort.

Fair play to them, they deserve to vent a bit. Absolutely pathetic from the officials today. I'm surprised Hughton hasn't had more of a go at them. I wouldn't have been able to be as dignified.

When do we ever get such luck? Such blatant calls in our favour in crucial games at vital stages of the season? When it comes down to it, everything that can go wrong for us does, while Arsenal and Chelsea always somehow manage to maintain the status quo in the end.

That absolute macaron who stole the police hat thinking he's going to get away with it
