Highway To Hell and For Those About to Rock We Salute You

Cheers Arc. I will give those a listen. It's a bit annoying that you can't buy their stuff in itunes, but admirable in a way I suppose as the band want people to view their work as a whole and not download individual tracks. Also admirable that they followed the death of their singer Bon Scott with their most successful album and one of the biggest sellers of all time by and artist!

Ever tried Nick Warren "Back 2 Mine"

Flawless masterpiece

It kicks of with a stunning Talismantra track, and the Jam & Spoon remix of Moby Go, is genius

Best Nick Warren, IMHO, is Global Underground 08 from Brazil...dynamite...Nick Warren is really good...if you like more straight up US trance, try Christopher Lawrence "Unhooked - The Hook Sessions"...if you wanna know what Friday night on a hoppin' rooftop bar in a Sunset Strip hotel is like, 'Cruise Control' (a track off said-album) is a good start...you 'could' see Vegas I suppose, but LV's always been a bit more Tiesto, etc...to be fair, LA has some great late-night clubs...even if I am getting to the point where I might 'just' be a little beyond my age in them LOL ;-)...nothing a few margaritas won't take care of!!!!!

Is that Port of Morrow?

I fudging loved the first three albums but have only heard "Simple Song" and it has worried me a bit to be honest, sounds a bit dumbed down to me if you know what I mean....

I think simple song is up there with the best of Wincing in terms of production, and with its melodies its probably up there with the best of the Shins. its one incredible bit of work! What it dosnt have is that dark edge. The album itself tries hard to not riff on previous album tracks but the best moments like September are just that, on the surface dont sound much different but if you go back and actually compare the tracks they sound like, its pretty great to see where Mercer is going with things.

what it isnt going to do is grab you immediately. it took me a few listens. this will be in the top 10s at the end of the year by music fans.

I'm having the Moons. Been onto them for a while. Good live too. I'll give the others a listen over the next few days

Yeah, The Moons are good live, we had them booked last October as a warm up for their Beady Eye support tour.

I like some of his stuff, but I'm not sure about him across the course of an album. Which album would you reccommend? Run Come Save Me just doesn't hit the same heights as witness the fitness imo, maybe I just haven't listened to it enough?

Saw him in concert a couple of weeks ago and it was one the most fun concerts I'd seen in a while. In terms of albums, I think Slime and Reason is my favourite but some of his stuff is pretty weird!

I’m not into metal or rock, Indie is more my thing but did it’s a shocking situation that a festival like Sonisphere has been cancelled due to low ticket sales. This and Download or probably the 2 biggest for this ‘genre’, unfortunately I don’t think that this will be the only festival we see cancelled this summer.

Really digging The Avett Brothers 'I and Love and You' at the moment.

Got missed as I downloaded it around the same time as Edward Sharpe, The Tallest Man On Earth and a few others, love it when you play one you didn't give enough time and it clicks.

Loving a bit of Gentlemens Dub Club at the moment:

Had our gig in Bedford on Saturday, with Missing Andy, THe Wholls and The Chakras. A sell out which is great and possibly one of the best nights we've done, all the bands smashed it, I'd already seen Missing Andy and The Wholls live before and therefore knew what to expect and wasn't disappointed. The Chakras were excellent too, and I strongly recommend seeing them if you get the chance!

quite liking the Jicks' stick figures in love.

also, heard some of that new paul weller album and thought it was bloody marvellous.
