All 5 Ghostbusters films are pretty crap.

The original was the best, but it's pretty horrendous (misogynistic) re-watching it today: https://www.ravishly.com/2015/02/03/newsflash-original-ghostbusters-was-totally-sexist

And the famous Ghostbusters theme is a rip off of I Want a New Drug by Huey Lewis and the News: https://www.briffa.com/blog/classic-copyright-cases-ghostbusters/
First 2 were good for their time, the first was 40 years ago.
I don't get why you think it's pretty horrendous and sexist though, to me it's just a fun flick with a catchy theme tune and that's all. Most ideas/songs have bits nicked from others, don't see the issue. It's entertainment pure and simple.
Saw the latest one today, found it quite boring despite the nostalgia.

Dune 2 is excellent. Watched the midnight premiere last night/this morning. I will have to watch a second time to make sure I picked up on everything as it was a late one for the double bill.

Incidentally, I thought that Dune was excellent and better than I had thought it to be first time around.
Lady Norf and myself quite enjoyed watching Dune 2 in an IMAX theatre on Friday. Howling blizzard kept the idiots off the road and the dilettantes out of the theatre so we just rolled effortlessly into the place and got our favourite seats in the middle of the back row.

Diaphragm rattling audio, terrific cast, glorious visuals. Great interpretation of the book. Just learned that the Feyd Rautha arena battle scenes on Giedi Prime were shot in infra-red to create that stark, desaturated look. Very effective. Has the feel of sequels to come.

How you must blanch listening to the dialogue of the brilliant Mel Brooks comedy, Blazing Saddles.

Absolute masterpiece of satire and sarcasm. Couldn't be made today with modern sensibilities and sensitivities.

Gird yer loins if'n you'se ain't seen it yet. This scene trips all the wires:

Nothing better to put a smile on your face on a Monday morning than some blazing saddles.

Watched the new Ghostbusters film and enjoyed it. Don’t care what the reviews say. Some of the special effects were a little ropey and there did feel like a few too many characters, a bit like an Avengers Ghostbusters movie. They are the only minor complaints I have with the film. James Acaster had a quite a big part in the film, thought he was only going to be in for one or two scenes.

Can't remember who it was talking about American Fiction in here a while back, just seen it tonight. Feels like a while since I'd seen something with a fresh take, it posed some interesting questions, particularly on whether pandering to the audience's pre conceived notions is the right way to go. If something sells, does that mean it's good art?

It was genuinely funny and sad at times, moreso than I was expecting. The actor who played Jeffrey Wright's mother was excellent as was Wright himself. With how things pick up hype and the publishers are always trying to find that next thing, the story itself isn't as farfetched as it should be, definitely worth a watch.

Was probably me. My favourite film of all the films that were up for best picture at the Oscars along with Past Lives. I hope it finds a big audience on streaming. The irony in some of the scenes is hilarious, like when Monk is on the panel deciding what book is the best and the white writers shut him down whilst saying they need to listen to black voices at the same time.

Watched Dune 2. Visually stunning, but couldn't help thinking the original (1984) is better, so went back and watched it again - yep, brilliant film.

I have to admit that I wasn't looking at Sting's gonads, so can't confirm.
