Saw many Saints of Newark, I enjoyed it but I’m not sure if it was because of the casting of the original characters of the Sopranos and seeing Gandolfini’s son playing Tony which gave more emotional weight to a genre I enjoy.

It also felt a little like it was setting the scene for a sequel.
 
I saw the new James Bond movie Saturday night, glad I saw it before some muppet spoilt it for me.

Skyfall is my favourite Bond movie however this film confirms Craig as my favourite James Bond

I figure James Bond has to be male, however that does not stop you from making a movie or tv show about 008 who happens to be female

As Marky said, it never ends. Nothing is ever good enough for these people. Unfortunately racism/sexism and many other isms haven’t gone away and need to be addressed but like you said, we are going too far the other way trying to make everyone hyper aware of race and gender and all it does is alienate people in the centre on both sides ie the sane ones. The goalposts are moved often, probably because it’s easier to catch people that way.

Not sure why the woke left are so keen on changing every male character to be played by a gay actor or a trans actor or a female. By all means, create a spin off for the new 007 who is female but leave James Bond as a male. Piers Morgan made a stupid comment about campaigning for Wonder Woman to be played by a man but it’s the same kind of dumb logic the far left uses. Although I’d agree it’s probably time for a minority to play Bond but only if they are right for the part. For example I think Idris Elba would be a good Bond. I’m a liberal but I don’t want a progressive ideology shoved in my face in movies and TV shows any more than I want a conservative ideology in entertainment. I want great stories not some woke checklist of representation to make every group happy. If the story has a plot that requires representation thats great and I will support that. But representation for representation sake is stupid. I don’t care if there are no white people in the next Black Panther film for example.
