Reall, I have not heard him say anything insightful or different from the normal thick British pundits . He might have an opnion on a foul/sending off or a disallowed goal, but nothing about players or tactics.

Signed a lot of mediocre players for Sunderland and Ipswich and was rightly sacked.

You are right that his managerial CV has taken a sharp dip, though I'm not sure that is really relevent. IMO he not at all like his other tv pundit cohorts, kowtowing to the usual banal media friendly sound bites. Sure there is no tactics analysis, but this is ITV we are talking about. They barely have time to string 1 or 2 lines together before an ad break.
