Don't take it out of context! He said that the last two seasons he has been the best manager in England because he has won one FA Cup, one Premier League and one Charity Shield.
I was going to say that.
But even that's debatable. Di Matteo won CL and FA cup in a couple of months. About 3 months vs 15 months... Di Matteo won more per month.
If City win nothing this season and United take the league, Mancini is going to have to admit Fergie has done better than him over the last few years.
But Mancini has been insanely defensively lately, (well not just lately), his "if I get sacked, the other 19 deserve to be sacked too" was strange.
It's not difficult to see where he is coming from with those quotes, but it is very difficult to not want to ask him how he feels he'd do at a newly promoted club with no money...
Plenty of managers get sacked and people feel it's harsh. Ancelloti, Adkins, Fat Sam twice, tons of newly promoted managers. Di Matteo.... Etc. Mancini might be struggling to see why if he gets sacked this season, it will not be seen as being nearly as harsh as most of those. If he'd not fudged up as badly in the CL this season, he could afford to come 2nd and probably still have the media say "he deserves a chance, he only went 1 season without winning the league, they made progress in europe, etc"... He isn't even close to progress though... If City get close to meeting FFP regulations, maybe he can say he made progress there, but....
