New xbox

Problem is their main focus is the kinect buy what if you have no space to use this? It then turns into an xbox 360 with better graphics.
 
They've increased the viewing angle of it so it will work in a smaller area but the old one was so useless in my living room that I'm still not confident - i could have got it to work but it would mean totally rearranging everything.

If it's supported properly as a feature rather than as a gimmick the kinnect could be excellent but I just don't see it happening - motion capture is just too hard to do accurately.

Did you try one of those fisheye lenses for it?
 
Comes in the box with the Xbox One doesn't it? Will be ok for the Skype and voice control features I suppose, the gaming aspect doesn't interest me at all.

I think it's part of the room scanning for projecting part of the game on the walls. In that case I'm interested.

Nope? Didn't realise you could get different lenses for it! Took it back when I realised that it wouldn't work in my living room though.

I hope we see more 3D gaming, and more games that are optimised for LG Dual Play, but to be honest I can't see too much of the latter happening.

I doubt we'll see much more 3D. It was only a fad to keep people buying new tvs until better HD is here. It doesn't improve films or games outside of the novelty factor.

The real nail in the coffin is that it doesn't improve porn (apparently!) , so it won't be a driving force in sales.

For me I only enjoyed the Avengers 2 because it was in 3D. When I tried watching it in 2D it didn't work. I see a huge future in 3D - more and more films are filmed in 3D and more and more TVs are 3D-ready. I think as 3D gets better (for example when autostereoscopy becomes mainstream) and screens get bigger it will make a huge difference.

Meanwhilst the Illumiroom looks interesting...

I really don't like 3d films, you can't see enough of what's going on and it kills the details; I had to go back and watch the avengers in 2d as the 3d aspect ruined it for me!

I think until the 3d experience is immersive and you drive the camera angle yourself there's no point. That said the occulus ridge headset and the other headset from those former valve employees look like they're trying to offer that.

I'd buy one IF there was no kinect requirement and no internet connection requirement, and maybe less emphasis on social media app flimflam i'll never use and more on actual video games ( not CoD rehash #32)
Not comfortable with the things im reading on the kinect's monitoring abilities either, don't trust microsoft anymore than uncle sam.
 
Pes 2014 not going to be on next gen consoles.

FIFA 14 looks exactly the same as 10,11,12 and 13. They are starting to slack and pes have a new game engine. Hopefully people will come back to pes a bit more.

I still always proffered it over FIFA anyway.

At launch it won't, but they are dropping heavy hints it will be via the new Cloud software they are developing.

Which does bring about the question of space and a subscription package for that space.
