New Stadium and Training Ground - Pg 104 Northumberland Park master plan

What an impressive outcome for the club. Sure Levy cannot believe how much progress has bee made. The riots, and the hugs effort the club has put into this, has resulted in an unbelieveably positive set of agreements. The 106 changes are far more than we could ever have expected.

CLUB STATEMENT

Posted 13 February 2012 10:46pm

The Club can announce that, following a meeting of the London Borough of Haringey Planning Sub-Committee on 13 February, the design improvements to the Northumberland Development Project together with the revisions to the Section 106 planning agreement have been approved.

Daniel Levy, Chairman, said:

"We are delighted with these three unanimous decisions and are grateful for the support of the Council and those right across the community who have who expressed such enthusiasm for our plans.

"We welcome the public sector coming together to further regeneration in an area with such a real need. We are proud of our roots in Tottenham and we are committed to seeking to deliver a world class new stadium, associated developments and the ensuing benefits of employment opportunities, economic uplift and community gains.

"There is still much work to be done and we shall keep everyone connected with the Club updated over the coming months with our progress."

Why isn't he in France haggling for Hazard!? FFS! :)

All go tonight.

This would be really welcome. My guess is things will starting moving over the next few months with greater clarity on the financial details.

Yeah, thats certainly one of the things that came out of the meeting, the importance of getting the agreement tonight so that the club could crack on with the finance of the project. Also the aspect of further regeneration in the surrondings areas outside of the NDP, but we must learn to walk before we can run.

I missed the meeting online, but did have a look at the rather massive accompanying documentation. Such a huge project, and I'm still amazed at how much the 106 agreements have changed. The sponosrship area is the interesting one because it is really hard to say when the club might need to put this in place, and how close they might be to doing so. We were always going to need significant bank finance, but the extent to which we will eventually neutralise some of that debt through sponsorship is really impossible to tell.

I believe the meeting will be available for the next month on the earlier link should anyone want to kill 3hrs.

I could watch it again just to see that Schmitz bloke get shouted down by the Ledley King of Haringey Council, Ali Demirci. :D

Levy really is some kind of evil, but slightly-soft-centred-and-misunderstood genius, if he instigated those riots and then went on a THFC hoody hugging extravaganza to help with Section 106!

As the above could only occur in an Austin Powers script, and with the smoothness of his scalp as corroborating evidence, Levy, I'm convinced, is Dr Evil in the flesh.

What was that being shone in Bennys eyes at Anfield again? :-k Lasers!?

On a more serious/less strange note: Was there actually any mention of the rumoured capacity increase n there at all? It doesn't seem so from what I can tell initially, but I chose the Rangers comeuppance over the Haringey jobsworths today, so am not best placed!

PS: The 68,000 was a cruel post for any skimmers of this thread!

The new timetable, according to a recent Haringey council document, is for the supermarket construction to begin this summer and for the stadium construction to begin during summer 2013. Spurs would move in to the two thirds completed stadium in the summer of 2015, with the remaining third (along with the podium) to be completed by the summer of 2016 - after which, work on the housing / college / health centre / health club would begin.

Were going to have a beautiful new stadium lads...

Hope the walkway to the stadium will be called 'White Hart Lane'

Doubt it.

Spurs want to rename WHL station and the part of White Hart Lane (road) that is closest to the High Road precisely because they want the name to be less associated with the stadium. All related to maximizing the value of the naming rights deal.

Thanks, Jummy

2 year-contract for the first part sounds reasonable. I'd imagine that would include non-matchday Saturdays too.

This is the approved ground design with the historic buildings cleaned up and left in situ (wich were never going to be removed after we agreed to keep them), anyway it looks better with than without imo,and this is where the Bill Nick gates will be..I need TP for my bunghole.

That little row of houses looks fantastic - much better with than without. They really connect the new stadium to the history of the area.
