If Modric really does move to CFC with Jose, this would be good! Too many creative midfielders there and too many bruised egos. Plus, what would he bring that Mata, Oscar, Hazard, Ramires don't.

Modric is the present. Come in, get us across the line for a couple of seasons, teach Winks and ensure our future is silver-clad AND our midfield general superlative. This is EXACTLY the sort of experience we need. Come on. Even you can see that a season or two of Modric sitting with Dier, prompting Eriksen, Alli, Kane and Son/whoever else, would be almost impossible to defend! It would be a shrewd and excellent move. Sadly, I do not believe it one bit.

Modric is one of the best CMs in the world, possibly even the best at the present time and is the type of player you could imagine playing at that level well in to his mid 30s- if there's any chance whatsoever we could tempt him back (and afford him) we should be all over it as a matter of priority - he would instantly improve the team and take us up a level or two.

Kovacic and Pulisic = a team that would compete for the next 6-8 years, not just 1 or 2 (if we are lucky with injuries and how they adapt to physical decline).
