Spurs' Frank: Van de Ven, Spence sorry for snub
Thomas Frank has said that Micky van de Ven and Djed Spence have apologised after appearing to ignore him after Tottenham's defeat to Chelsea.

Should it have happened, no, but i think there are some making mountains out of molehills over it.
I am with Micky just lost to Chelsea & you want me to walk around & get booed & probably called allsorts of brick. You think in that situation he should be fined ridiculous a private apology to Frank is sufficient.Love love love Micky, but in fairness, this is a moment for Frank to assert authority and I trust both players will be fined. Personally I understand exactly why they did what I think they did (without context it's hard to say exactly) however consequences must be had - especially if Bissouma was essentially binned off for timekeeping as is alleged.

Biss was binned after being late multiple times completely different situation
Agreed with the lap of honour should not be done it's asking for trouble. An apology is more than enough fining people for being angry after a loss is not necessaryI’m all for skipping the lap of ‘honour’ after a loss, but I don’t think you should show disrespect for your boss like that publicly. Was a bad look for them imo.
Exactly. Lap of honour! Is it not more of a lap of appreciation for the fans rather than a lap of honour
Yep wrong word but the point still stands we shouldn't expect players to walk around pitch win or loose. Imagine you are thanking the fans & some idiot insults your Mrs or kids you are angry after losing & suddenly you see red.Is it not more of a lap of appreciation for the fans rather than a lap of honour
Exactly. Lap of honour!![]()
If you think walking around while being booed & abused is going to bring players closer to fans it won't.Gamedays during covid shined a light on what the fans brings to the table. The lap of appreciation is important imo, sure it's not easy if there's abuse, but shying away from the connection with the fans will just widen the gap further and compund the issue
Yes, It's defenitely the more comfortable approach. You get to do that choice in life on a regular basis, often keeps you stagnant. If you think walking around while being booed & abused is going to bring players closer to fans it won't.
Imagine someone insults Romero & he decides fudge you & climbs into the stands & is dragged back by players that causes more problems than its worth.
I don't recall Nicholson Burkinshaw or any manager until recently asking players to walk around clapping the fans. I didn't expect it either
