“I can tell you it was painful! Vic came out, the ball bounced on his head. I don’t know how to be honest. The ball came to Hojlund and I was like 'I need to go to the goal line because if he heads over Vic, that’s going to be a goal'," said the centre-back.
“I saw the ball coming and to be honest the ball was high and I was like 'I don’t know how I’m going to do this', but I just tried everything I could and I saved it. It was all worth it because we kept the clean sheet. Some back issues afterwards but it’s all worth it!"

To be fair, the quality of opposition in many of the qualifiers is well below PL or EL and I think that even Werner would score against the likes of Malta, Kuwait and Liechtenstein!
So interestingly, he played as a LB
Did a few runs, actually had another similar volley opportunity earlier in game but missed.

Interesting. You could argue that makes best use of his pace and also lack of aerial dominance given his height...
I think for the right games, he makes an interesting LB option.
Also, like a lot of our CB's, probably do well in a back 3 that would allow them to both cover their deficiencies as well as take advantage that VDV, Romero and Danso can all reasonably carry the ball forward.

With the way that Frank often deployed a back 3, you can see him often opting for that here. Maybe swapping out Romero for Dragusin when he returns from injury (assuming Romero leaves).
