No it didnt cross our minds Mick, because after he was told to stop doing it, he still continued to. I thought that would have been blatantly obvious.
You have an absoulute cheek asking anyone to stop trying to score points, especially when you try and put your point of view across by saying the previous comments are mindless and people are trying to be smart arses when you do it yourself. Maybe its something you have been told to do ? You couldnt possibly do that on your own.
you lost your right to participate in any kind of level headed conversation on the subject when it became clear that you just chose it as another vehicle to express your prejudices against Dawson and Redknapp. Whilst you are incapable of shaking that mindset, we are never going to agree or have a sensible discusssion.
You will just have to accept that I'm not prepared to sit by and watch people pouring vitriolic abuse on players, based on a platform of mindless disapproval, without substance or reason.
Dawson does far more good as a defender than he ever does bad, yet you treat a game like this as if he was there to do nothing more than sabotage our chances of winning, and the only thing you can do is to come up with the argument that Dawson continued to play long balls out of defence after being told to stop. Which you would have used as another launchpad for scorn, had he allowed himself to be caught in possession on a bog of a pitch against a fired up team of industrial standard footballers running on more hormones than a pubescent schoolgirl. You however are such a feckin expert, that you know better than Dawson, about what he should or shouldn't do in every circumstance. This isn't some electronic game you know, its the real thing, and the lanscape changes constantly throughout a game.
For some reason this is the one player that you focus on, despite the fact that no-one covered themselves in glory, playing in a cup game where it was always going to be difficult, in an experimental line up, with players new to the team. In terms of what they are capable of, Parker had a far worse game than Dawson, as did Bale - where's the even handed treatment of them?
You also express the view that the manager is clueles and should go for the benefit of the club, despite being the most successful manager in the clubs history(results wise) and producing the best footballing side (that I certainly have) seen since the late 1960's.
Bullet makes a point of being a smartarse as much as he can at my expense, it would appear that I am his bete noir, so I am at liberty to respond when he posts coments I have made, out of context.
You might think I'm being a smartarse, but you can rest assured that I'm not (trying to be) - its just that supporters who do nothing but carp and whine, and act like they know better than the clubs pro's and the manager - tinkle me off beyond measure. Because in my view its mindless, boring and poorly educated criticism. You weren't there, you didn't play and you just sat on your fat arse in the comfort of your own home, spitting feathers.
Go you
