Mauricio Pochettino

Currently losing 0-2 to South Korea at HT. Son with the first goal. Jürgen Klinsmann's son Jonathan is on the bench for the US. He's a goalkeeper, so very little chance he's coming on.

Going to be honest on this, if anyone in here get's the chance to see San Diego play then do so. A very well structured side playing some of the best football in MLS.

There are others that are good to watch but as good as any other team in central Europe's top teams is far from true, but what else would anyone expect to hear Poch say as coach of the US national team?

Would have him back in a heartbeat. Only question is whether he fits the Lange / Paratici ideals.

But that aside, if we could have him back, I’d have no hesitation. Levy’s biggest mistake was sacking and not backing him. I mean that less in pure monetary terms, and more in trusting Poch’s view on moving players out at the right time.

He was rightly sacked easy to blame Levy Poch obviously doesn't as they remain friends. i thank him for what he did for us but his time was up. What has he achieved since leaving that warrants us giving him another shot at it. It really is time for the fan base to move on or are we going to sing his name every time our manager goes through a bad patch & Poch is available. As i have said previously its time to look forward not keep looking back

I think maybe his Chelsea stint means the fans won’t sing his name is the current manager is in a bad patch anymore.

Just my personal opinion, but I think the form started sliding as the inevitable consequence of not signing or selling a player for 18 months. Especially when he had built his culture on a freshness, an energy, on younger players being able and willing to run harder for him in his system. By the time he was sacked, a lot of the players that came up under him wanted to leave, and he also wanted to move players out to maintain that freshness and wasn’t able to.

I think he was sacked in a simplistic reading of results getting worse, rather than the club appreciating the nuance around what made him successful in the first place, and wondering if that had changed due to circumstances outside of his control. I think he was a managerial talent that could have been backed. The most generous interpretation I can give to Levy in my view here is that he saw Jose as the right man to lead a now more experienced squad (eg it placated players like Toby who then signed a new deal) as opposed to the younger one that Poch built. So it was a bet on getting something out of the players on a same but different phase of the cycle, rather than starting another cycle with Poch.

I just go back to feeling like I would have rather started another cycle with Poch, but this time from a higher base than the one he joined because we were now in the new stadium. Poch signing better younger players than the Stamboulis of this world would have been interesting to see.

The irony of course being that he sacked Jose when on the cusp of getting something out of those players.

Well if you believe the rumours senior players went to Levy & told him they wanted him gone. If correct Daniel had no choice
If that were true, I would’ve expected a comment or two since from Mou, something along the line of 'a bunch of losers wanted me gone, I think they were scared we might win something'.
