Mauricio Pochettino - Sacked

True. I think it will take time to see what he really wants, we may not get it until his second or third year. Really interesting season coming up, I wonder if he has made his mind up on players already?

poch has not had his heart at southampton since cortese left...im sure he's been thinking...subconciously planning things regarding us for a while.

Only another 6 weeks or so and we might have a ****ing shirt for him to hold up ;)

Not my choice but done now so hope he turns in to a world beater and has immense success

wonder what odds the bookies are offering on poch seeing out the 5 years???

saw a blog from a soton fan saying that poch never had a plan b...really interested in the ins and outs player wise this summer.

Hahaha i'm really giddy I can't wait to see the Pochettino Spurs era

2bf it's unlikely he will be here in 5 years time. How many managers stay at a club for 5 years? Realistically, he'll either bomb out at Spurs and be sacked, fall out with Levy and leave by mutual consent, or be a roaring success and be poached.

5 years is a long time.

Running out of steam because of the intense pressing might be a regular problem. Its not very smart is it.

I refer you to a man who's done his homework

Doesn't seem like they tailed off to me, results seem pretty consistent throughout. The mini-bashings weren't like our bashings. For example, they eventually lost heavily to Emirates Marketing Project, but for everyone that saw that game, they gave Emirates Marketing Project a right scare and outplayed them for a good portion of the game before City's individual quality won them the game. It wasn't a collapse like we have seen. Similarly against Liverpool, they may have lost to them heavily at home, but that was a very flattering score line for Liverpool and Saints created a load of chances in that game which was very open and end-to-end.

I'm not sure that there was an appointment that we could have made who would be around in five years time. The situation with managers that we can get is the same as with players (young and promising on the way up or successful and nearing the end of their career). If Poch does well he will move on to a bigger job, if he fails he will leave the club.

LvG was my first choice. Soon as Moyes got sacked I knew he'd be out of reach. But Poch was my next choice. So I am well happy with this, think this is an exciting appointment, I think we'll play exciting and bold football again, with a decent amount of structure & organisation too. Appointing him is not without its risks... but who the hell can we actually get who is proven?? (and no I don't want FSW).

Roll on the start of next season. Good luck Poch, my FB is full of too much negativity, I hope he silences the boo boys very quickly. COYS
