During his post-match press conference following a 2-0 home win over Emirates Marketing Project, Pochettino stated that Spurs will only play with one holding midfield player according to the BBC Radio London Sport.
“Our mentality was to play in the opposite half. Not only to run in behind them but when we have the ball to play in the way that we play,” Pochettino said.
“I think it is the commitment of the team that you can play in different ways and believe.”
“The design to play is not only [for] today. We play against CSKA [Moscow] we play against Middlesbrough and different games with only one midfielder holding.”
“I think that the future and the project of the team is to play with only one.”
