Mauricio Pochettino - Sacked

Actually I was more excited about us signing Lo Celso than N'Dombele. I'm sure that was probably because I saw him boss it a few times and saw little of N'Dombele.

I wanted Soler from Valencia. Think he is outstanding.

The young lad at Barcelona, ruiq is another interesting player.

Am I the only one who is more optimistic after today's match than before it?

I thought it was over, I've been talking about our decline since last season, but now I really believe he's going to turn it around.

I'll have some of that..but before i take a sip..why do you think that?

The fact that he's got nowhere to hide behind and clearly no friends on board.
He strikes me as a man who excels in adversity. Before today he probably thought there were players he could rely on and that the platitudes meant something.

Now he's totally alone. He gets sacked players will be fine. Players get sold they'll be fine. I think he'll be insulted by how this has has gone and will rebuild as a 2 fingers up to those who he thinks betrayed him. This is a man who gets annoyed if people make jokes about Owen's dive in the World Cup.

Like I said before I think he'll deconstruct himself, he's management style, how he's conducted himself in the press, the book etc. I think the days of having favourites in selection/subs will be gone.

If he's not sacked immediately then Levy is.backing him over the players and I think he'll go scorched earth on the whole situation.

It is obvious who is no longer part of the forward-moving group, those whose flushes are busted.

Eriksen, Alderweireld, Aurier, possibly Jan, sadly Dier (whose regression has been so sad - I wanted him to succeed today but he underscored why he has not been a regular), Wanyama and Davies. They are done. Dele? We shall see. He is an amazing talent who needs some very careful stewardship at a very important time in his life. Rose? Done at the end of the season but still of sufficient fight and spirit.

I think the old guard who can core-up and help the new mkII are Kane, Sonny, Lamela, Winks, Sissoko, Lloris. Possibly Jan (see above).

I think our new signings will all work out top be quality personally.

I think in the immediate youth set-up, we need to start playing Foyth, Skipp, Tanganga and Parrott more often.

The others? We need to see. Lucas is a great asset when he plays through the middle, but otherwise not so much. KWP, not good enough in the crunch for me but still time to prove me wrong.

I think Poch needs to be given the chance to build another side. I would PERSONALLY like him to take on another coach to reinvigorate the training ground, and I wish he'd sign someone like Alves short-term to help steward through the kids/youth and show our experienced players what it is to make the final step. He doesn't do it I know, but I wish he would.

To short-term bounce right now would be the wrong move IMO, unless Poch has decided he has had enough.

Agreed, I think a lot of people forget poch inherited most of this squad.

I like what you write here, but can't help if it's all just wishful thinking sadly. :(

He excels in adversity? Not sure about that, witness his 'me or anther coach' comments after the Man Utd (in the end limp) semi-final defeat when he realised there'd be questions raised about another trophyless season and another semi-final loss. Then also witness his "trophies only inflate our egos" comments.
Sadly, those are quotes from a man who DOES NOT excel in adversity. I'll let other debate whether his rant at Mike Dean might add to that (or not).

He's had chances to be ruthless since last spring, but he has continued to pick favourites, even if they constantly underperform: Moura dropped for the CL final even though Alli and Son had even less reason to keep their places than Kane.
Has our inability to tackle been coached out of the team by him? Perhaps they are simply physically spent because of the years of hard-running as part of our tactics and training regime.

However, let's just say, i hope you're right...

I’m not ruling this out, although it’s unlikely.

More possible is that he’s gone before the end of the international break or - worse - when we lose the first two games after it.
