Was just reading on RTE yesterday after the above post that Dundalk got 11m for their European run in 2016. Yet their ground is an absolute dump and they are now in the 1st Division and struggling badly. You'd wonder why and how.

LOI is littered with stories like that to varying degrees. Sure my beloved Waterford were taken over around that time by a fella who it seems didn't have the cash to back it up (Lee Power, once of Norwich), he sold it to a fella who wanted his kid in the team and sacked our manager 3 days before a promotion/relegation play off (to be replaced for that game by ex-Spur Ian Hendon) and eventually the owners of Fleetwood took us over. Then it turns out that the new chairman was done for fraud and is now serving 13 years in jail.

And people complain about Levy...

Waterford?
My Mum was from Wexford...well a small town near New Ross...

Deano - he’s staying at St Patrick’s this year, and the LOI season runs from now to October right?
I see some Irish games are shown on the bbc iPlayer but when I search I find Northern Ireland and gaa so… maybe I need to change my NordVPN?

All games are streamed on LoITV. Some games are shown on RTE, Virgin media, and TG4. I don't believe any games are shown on BBC iPlayer, but could be wrong.

It comes as no surprise that Spurs bought the best young Irish striker since sliced bread, a star in the making, the youngest goalscorer in (er, I forget, the league?) and pay the most ever for an Irish player and he is without doubt the bestest... then the same week some wee Irish kid I've not heard of (Noonan) becomes the youngest goalscorer ever ever evs in Europe, scoring for Shamrock.

Ah, feck.
