Manager Sack Watch

Well it wasnt Allardyce, or Martinez!

Ranieri is a smart move, he is a decent manager and I think will do a good job. Whether that amounts to them staying up I dont know though...

They had to try something, pretty much in free-fall. Ranieri might just be able to spark some life into them, at least get them defending.

I heard "Sparky" is not happy as the media are reporting he's under pressure at Southampton, he says they dont know what's going on at the club, obviously they are happy with 1 league win so far this season.

He never should have been kept on after the end of last season. Giving him a long term contract meant ripping up everything that had been working well there.

they do, he's in charge, and for the last 10 years he's been setting fire to every club he touches

He really has reached a point where I wonder why people give him jobs.

He doesnt even have the Allardyce type aura of "You know he'll keep you up". He doesnt offer good football. I wonder if he even works within a budget. Doesnt bring through young players well.

I mean, why would you give him a job?

I agree, I have defended him in the past because I think he did some good things with Wales and Blackburn, but that was a long time ago, he's been a failure everywhere since*.

If Southampton don't get rid of him soon they are going down.

*It took him longer to fudge up Stoke than I thought it would though.

I just find him so dreary.

And I dont mean in his dour and snappy attitude. His teams are void of identity. No spirit, no shape, no intent...

You get Allardyce in you know what you are getting on the field.
Pochettino, Dyche, Howe, Wagner... run through the league and you can tell me what each manager will have their team like, what defines them.

Hughes?

Which job was it that he walked out of because he thought that he was going to get the Chelsea gig?

Was it not the Villa job? Either way he then ended
up at QPR which was a terrible decision considering he’d finished 8th with Fulham!
