Where is this idea that Vuskovic has asked to leave come from?

I have no intel other than more trusted journos indicating that he would be willing to take a permanent move there. I’m not sure if it’s a play to force our hand to get him in our side this season or whether it’s his genuine feeling. But if he was committed to us more this wouldn’t be a story, because his team would be saying ‘it’s a loan next year before fighting for his place at Spurs. End of story’

What journos? I saw that piece that was posted on here yesterday and I thought it was appalling! Basically saying because Vuskovic played in Germany and because Hurzeler is German then they trust each other.

Think it’s simply that we want Van Hecke and said you can have Vuskovic on loan as part of the deal, Brighton, like any team worth their salt, will have then said well no we’ll just buy him for half his valuation… it’s basic negotiating. None of which is Vuskovic wanting to leave or asking to leave. He’s probably been sounded out of he’s open to the loan and said ok. It’s 2+2 = whatever you want it to be at this stage.

My scenario above could be completely wrong as well, but I’m not going convince myself of it and make any assumptions about what the player wants and criticize him for a hypothetical.

Equally he has done absolutely everything you would want from a youth prospect and their loan deals. There should be a plan in place. Otherwise.....again.....whats the point..

As for the earlier claim about the Bundesliga and its quality, I agree to an extent, but if you dont want to be put into a position where you think the standards not helpful, then dont send him there, but let's be frank, he went at 18 and absolutely excelled regardless, so he is a product of the clubs decisions still, they have to be accountable for those decisions, his accountability was to go and do well, and he did that and some.

I'm sure there was a plan in place when we signed him, loaned him to Westerlo and then to Hamburg. We don't know what the next stage of the plan was / is supposed to be or whether Vuskovic and his management team are still happy with it.

Only from the (unconfirmed) reports that he has agreed personal terms with them. I assume you don't do that unless you're interested in playing for them. And yes I know this is all rumour and speculation in the middle of the silly season when facts are hard to come by. It's equally, if not more likely that there's no truth in the rumour at all, or Brighton are playing silly 'b's to stir the pot on the JVH transfer.

In previous years I've always ignored the 'news' all until there was official confirmation. This year for personal reasons I am largely stuck at home without much to do so I've decided to immerse myself in all the clickbait nonsense, misinformation and planted stories.

The alternative view of that is that Spurs are the place you go if you want to prove that you can genuinely be one of the best in the world. Modric and Bale went to Madrid after showing what they could do with us - regular European football, teams that defend deep against us, higher expectations.

It’s much harder to go become truly elite at a Brighton. If it’s all about him wanting to play, I’d totally get that. Just not sure where the willingness to force a permanent move is coming from when he’s not even 20…

It mostly gets glossed over, but Modric went on a borderline strike the year previously when Chelsea were in for him and then forced through the move to Madrid. Bale effectively refused to play that pre-season before he was sold as we didn’t want to sell. Kane in 2021 is another example, whatever the criticisms of ENIC are, and there are many, but one thing you can’t say is that they cash in on players.

If these rumours are true, it’ll likely be his family and agent eyeing up the agent’s fee and a pay increase followed by another in two or three years. Remember, he has no loyalty to us, he has spent about five or six weeks at the club in total.

If, buts and maybes is what a lot of those on here are getting wrapped up in. In all honesty none of us know but to listen to some hacks on teletext, Facebook, clickbait etc who are saying he will be unhappy/ is no more then speculation and some fans need to give their heads a wobble.

At this time of the year if we didn’t talk speculation then there would be very little said on here.
But I agree sometimes have to let things play out and only worry when and if something happens rather than worrying ‘what if?!’.
We can’t know the future and most of the time we wouldn’t want to. In fact when the question was raised whether people would prefer to know if we would be relegated or not, ahead of time, most said they’d prefer not to know.

So as frustrating and fear inducing as the rumours are. I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens and then react accordingly.

You make fair points, sadly its ok speculating but there are so many fans who get their knickers in a twist when all that speculation turns our to be untrue. The next step is then some of those fans then use it to have yet another bitch about our club.
