A few games? Ah that’s nice of you.
Sadly I'm not expecting too much from him.
There are no bargains in the game today.
Now all he has to be is an improvement on N'Koudou, but we will see
There really are bargains. Relatively speaking of course.
Trippier seems to have been a recent one for us.
Moura, bought for less than PSG paid at less than 20% the price of a Coutinho, while having won many things and played at a very high level with both goals and good team play appears to be another.
The new kid at Leicester (Diabete) seems to be another glimpse of what could be available with good Scouting.
January 2015 is a long time ago..............different footballing world now sadly.
Let just remember £23m is sadly peanuts in today's inflated market.
Two other transfers of note for me in the Summer of that year Dier @ £4m and Trippier @£3.5m.
2015 was a very decent year for us. (I'm ignoring some of the also rans)
Not sure what to expect from Lucas Moura. Traditionally, Brazilians tend to struggle in the PL. Remember, Paulinho came with a big reputation but failed to show his best for us. Moura will need to prove his best before he can be a regular for us.
This is another Pochettino signing that I am not convinced or excited about. Surely, paying 22m for an Asian player is a pure marketing stunt than an attempt to improve the team. This will get us more fans in Asia but not sure it will lift the team.
Asian players have a very poor record in English Premier League. Regardless of their rich talents, Asian players are lacking in physical or mental strength to make a huge impact in the European leagues. They have done decently when they are part of a team with big stars like Park Ji Sung at ManU but have struggled when they are big stars in teams lacking quality.
We have done the same mistake we did with Soldado and Lamela, that is paying way too much than deserved. The huge transfer fee alone will be a big burden on Son, having to prove his worth. Son will be under huge pressure to perform because :
1) He is now the most expensive Asian player in history
2) He will be the most expensive current Spurs player (if Lamela leaves)
Anyway, good luck to Son. It is a big gamble by Pochettino and Levy. But hope he will lift the team.
If you're looking for a job, there's one just opened up at West Ham. I think you'd be in with a good chance of getting it.Not sure what to expect from Lucas Moura. Traditionally, Brazilians tend to struggle in the PL. Remember, Paulinho came with a big reputation but failed to show his best for us. Moura will need to prove his best before he can be a regular for us.
Well, one thing Moura has in his favour is the low transfer fee. Players tends to be under huge pressure whenever the transfer fee is huge. Not expecting too much from him this season but let's hope he will be a instant success for us.
The numbers getting bigger isn't a fundamental change. The ownership and the levels of investment by the richer clubs hasn't changed in three years. Our business model of picking up players that the richer clubs overlook can still work. The only fundamental change is that we are starting from a higher base, so it is harder to break into the side.
I am excited about the signing
I don't agree about lack of bargains, this is what we did with VDV stalked on a club trimming the fat on someone they didnt need, not based on him being no good but that club investing silly above, like Neymar.
Watford have some very very good bargain players to talk about recent times.
Wages for some of these bargains would be good to know.
Nationality is not that important.
The league's in which they have performed is more indicative.
Players with experience in france usually adapt pretty well.
We have one stand out player that proves that in our team already
