Ledley King

Do people really think Nelsen is that bad? Admittedly he's no Cannavaro, but I don't think he's been terrible in any games I've seen so far.

I'd still go with King and Gallas v Chelsea. If King is really doing terribly pull him off at half time. But I don't think any of the Chelsea strikers have the physical presence to bully him in the way that Holt did, so I think he may be alright (apart from Drogba... is he fit/likely to start?)

Well, you've got your wish, now that Kaboul appears injured. Take your pick; King/Gallas, Gallas/Nelsen, or King/Nelsen. Hooray for defensive solidity!

Actually, it appears Gallas may be injured as well. So King/Nelsen, up against Torres, Mata, Sturridge and Ramires. Hooray!

so Nelson/Livermore it is then when Kings knee flares up

Is Caulker suspended?

I think Nelsen has been brilliant.

He's been okay. A few shaky moments, but okay. Just not someone you want to depend upon when up against some of the pacier forwards in world football. And Sturridge, Mata, Ramires and Torres are nothing if not pacy. Plus, I don't think he can pass very well. Most of his clearances on Monday were straight into touch or long balls to Ade/Defoe.

I think, sadly, a lot of fans wanted him to fail as soon as he arrived, much like other unpopular signings like Gallas and Adebayor. People thought 'oh, here's another old crock Redknapp signing, we wanted a bigger name like Samba, so we won't give this guy a chance', and pick up on every mistake he makes. I think he's been, while certainly unspectacular, reasonably good. Plus he's the only player to score from one of our corners since the 1970s, so he must be doing something right.

No, he's not bad by any means. Certainly better than some of the woeful players we've had to call defenders who've pulled on the lilywhite shirt in the last decade or so. But he's not great either. He's just....meh. Personally, I wasn't against his signing; I though he'd bring experience, and be a useful back-up and a capable performer. And so he's proven to be. Nothing more, but nothing less either.

By brilliant, I mean his attitude, and determination has been flawless. He is what he is, and I have no idea when the last time he kicked a ball was prior to joining us, but Im willing to forgive his lack of finess!

When in doubt, kick it out...thats fine by me, if thats what he can do. I dont expect him to calmly pick out a pass, or settle the back four.

I wouldnt want to rely on him for 90 minutes, but he certainly doesnt give me the sh#ts.

Same.

He has barely put a foot wrong when called upon. On top of that, he was one of the few players who looked like they gave a fudge when we were losing to Norwich. Someone got injured and the medics ran onto the pitch, one of them left his medical bag on the pitch, Nelsen picked it up and threw it off the pitch!

This is the man, the legend, the king. One bad game does not change that. The best centre half on his generation. One player that I have always been proud to watch. He is going to have a stormer on Sunday, just you wait.

No Questioning the man's ability and talent but unfortunatley for me the lack of training has caught up with him.

If and when fit Gallas and Kaboul are first choice for me.

Kaboul can't play. Even if he could. King would always be in the team. He is class. He had a ropey game. Who didn't ? I suppose my faith is based on years and years of watching the guy. Where as the idea that he has lost his mojo is based on what ? Maybe 2 games at most.

It has not been one bad game, it has been a few now including 2 season running against arsenal.

Love king he is a spurs legend but he is now taking up a squad place from someone who would likely play more games at a higher level. I would keep king but not in the premership squad. Just keep him for europa league and league cup games.

I love King at least as much as anyone here. I don't just love him more than any other footballer ever, I love him in a different way to every other footballer.

However, I am one of the people who can't help but feel like this is the beginning of the end for him. Yes, it's only been a couple of bad games, or a few bad moments. But a) the point is that King NEVER used to have a couple of bad games! b) The fact that he barely trains, and that he looks so obviously to be worse off than he used to be physically speaking, makes it logical to think that these things are finally catching up with him. If he was just a great player who had no injury problems, then of course you wouldn't read too much into a few blips. But because you can see he's struggling physically, and you know he barely trains, it's natural to suspect that these things have finally taken their toll. c) Because he's been so amazing for so long, and because he is such a legend, it will be sad to see him continue to play in this 'weakened' state. I would rather see him go out on a high, then to see him continue playing in a way that would tarnish his image as this freak of nature, insanely consistent world class defender that he has been for so long.

I don't. Nelsen has to start on Sunday. The last thing I wanna see is Ledley humiliated against Chelsea at Wembley in an FA Cup semi final in front of millions.

I would rather we won the game and eventually go on to win the cup and hurt King's feelings than play King and we lose the game. It has not been 1 bad game. He has been deteriorating this season. He is still a class defender, but his legs can't match his brain anymore. We can't pick players based on emotion.

If Harry and Ledley think that he's good to perform and be a leader for us on sunday then I'll have no gripes if he starts. But on the flip side, if Harry wants to put him on the bench due to his recent form then I won't have a problem either. I want us to win the game after all, and I think Harry will choose the two central defenders that will give us the best chance to win!

Is Gallas fit for sunday? He'd play a blinder against his old club.
