I really don't begrudge Walker moving on. He was dropped/rested or whatever in most of the big games last season and after 9 years at the club, you'd want to be starting ALL of the CL games, especially considering that we weren't in the CL for the majority of his time at Spurs. That's without even mentioning that he's probably doubled his wages.
The fact is he does stand a better chance of winning trophies at Emirates Marketing Project IMO. Despite the fact that we have a better starting eleven IMO, he was right about saying we lacked the "edge" to win trophies. I don't know what word I was use to describe it but we do clearly lack that extra 5% or 10% that's required to get you over the line.
I'd use the words £1bn of oil money and cheating the system with flimflam ticket sales and sponsorships.I really don't begrudge Walker moving on. How did he play lastnight ??Walker starting tonight for City.

You may be right but until he was dropped was he not a part of the team that lacked the edge? And you have to ask why he was dropped in the first place, right at at the business end of the season.
Sounds harsh because defensively he was outstanding but maybe Poch concluded we needed someone more creative going forward? True Walker had his attacking moments but It was frustrating the number of times he would tear down the flank then come to a complete halt not knowing what to do with the ball. Those occasions allowed the opposition time to get back in numbers and thwart what might otherwise have been a more successful attack.
At the end of the day he did not prove good enough to make the difference. Neither did Trippier of course but it will be interesting to see how the two clubs fair this coming season.
And how much of a difference Walker makes to City.
No question he improved one heck of a lot under Poch, both defensively and in attack, even so Trippier showed much more spark going forward.I suppose you could argue that the faults highlighted here are things that could have been coached out of him.

It will be interesting to see whether Guardiola can eradicate Walker's tendency to come to an abrupt halt after bombing down the flank. Also he remains prone to the occasional brainfart at the back so there is still plenty for Guardiola to work on.

Is there a Godwin's equivalent for conversations about Walker before someone says the word brainfart?
Danilo signed up. No pressure, Kyle...
Oh the irony.City have a lot of games to play next season, it's obvious Walker can't play twice a week, they always needed two.

Isn't being rotated supposedly the reason why he took the hump with Poch?
Not sure why, he isn't fit enough to play 2 games a week every weekIsn't being rotated supposedly the reason why he took the hump with Poch?
.. for double the money.maybe hes willing to be rotated at city but not here...
Or in footballer-speak "wants to lift trophies"It's the two and two equals five reason some Spurs fans think is why he got the hump with Poch certainly, whether it's true or not is another matter completely...
Personally I think he just wanted to double his wages.
