Kyle Walker

Remember as well.....If Walker does stay i think Trippier will want to leave, he's made it clear he wants games. So it would be KWP or another RB signing anyway.

Which player in our first team does not want games? What is your evidence that he would want to leave or did you just pluck that idea out of thin air? ;)

I'd stick with Walker. There's no one else in the game who'd be 80% as good as him next season

Agreed, as much as I like Trippier he is not in Walker's class who is head and shoulders the best rb/wb in the league. If Emirates Marketing Project or any another club want to sigh him how about we just say no. He should not have the option to just leave just because he wants to after agreeing a new contract earlier in the season.

I think the question we need to ask is, can we improve the first team overall by letting Walker go. For me Tripper is good enough in the as RWB and offers a lot offensively, and if we are selling Walker to Emirates Marketing Project, a title Rival we should be looking at the 60mil range and we spend 30mil on a dynamic AM (can't say I'm good with knowing what's out there, but 30mil for someone like Meyer), 15mil for Sessegnon at Fulham and 15mil on a potential right-back with pace (or even a defensive RB if we feel Tripper cant fill in with a back 4), if we don't feel KWP is ready are we really in a worse off situation for the following season?

Better idea would be to keep our best players and strengthen the squad anyway. Selling to City is just foolhardy

I think the most important issue in this whole saga is that there is no evidence that Poch and Walker have "fallen out". Because whatever problems Walker may or may not have with our club he is still being picked. The likes of Townsend, Ade, Capoue and Kaboul know to their cost that when Poch had a problem with them they were simply no longer picked. This is not the case here, he is just being rotated. It is obvious Poch does not want to sell him and that Levy has never wanted to sell our best players, so despite all the rumours I see no reason why we should sell.

Heck if we go on rumours then we know that the media are loving the rumour that Man Utd are confident of signing Dier for £40m, well I say feck Utd and City cause we ain't selling either.

Oh I agree, which is why I said IF we are selling to Emirates Marketing Project, end of the day if Walker wants to go, keeping an unhappy player is foolish especially if it upsets the camp. Obviously everything right now is supposition, as no-one outside of Walker/Poch actually know what's happening. My point was, that in that scenario, its not all doom and gloom and we have the ability to improve the squad overall with the money (of course, can always waste it like the Bale money).

I thought Utd went for him in jan and were laughed out of the door? Going nowhere! Lets see whether Walks is gone or not. Poch will make it clear when his patience has run out.

I can't believe we'd sell to City under any circumstances really...would be really surprised. The logic just isn't there for me. Whatever we do to 'improve' as Levy and Poch say, will be negated by giving them a major upgrade in a problem position.

Please sell him abroad!

You also have to factor in whether or not Walker would be the same player having been denied a move - not saying he wouldn't but it's a possibility, so potentially we could be a stronger team without him IF he were to react badly to not being sold, which could also have a knock on affect on the rest of the team - so the argument isn't just whether we can replace him at his peak ability and 100% focused on the cause

Until Trippier is playing week in week out like Walker does you cant say for definite whether Trippier would end up being as good. He's looked damn good in the games he has played, and would only get better playing consistently. Not saying Id be happy to see Walker go mind.....

Agreed.

Also, does anyone actually think Trippier is as good as Walker overall? I do like Trippier but he's not in the same class as Walker and teams would definitely identify him as a weakness and target him.

I used to think Walker was a class apart...but our performances don't really dip when Trippier is in the team. KT really proved himself this season IMO. So many times he had an amazing game, or bagged a couple of assists and it felt harsh to leave him out next time. Not that Walker did anything wrong to deserve being dropped, more KT really stepped up.
