Kyle Walker

I just feel there may be some top right backs out there who are simply not as high profile. I know for a start that the Monaco right back has impressed me

Yep but he would cost crazy money too

After we played them i said to mate that City will buy a chunk of that Monaco team

Like Lamela to replace Bale, or Dembele to replace Modric? Both turned out ok in the end, but only after about 3 seasons.

We don't have time for first choice players to spend years bedding in anymore if we want to be competing for silverware.

We don't have the time to be dependent on bad scouting, either.

Waddle - Paul Allen
Gascoigne - Andy Gray/Dozzell
Stewart - Howells (conversion from AM to DM)
Ruddock - Calderwood/Kevin Scott
Barmby - Fox
Sheringham - Ferdinand
Campbell - Richards
Carrick - Zokora
Berbatov - Pav
Modric - Dembele
Bale - Lamela

From 1989-2013 we've never replaced a top player leaving with anyone half as good.

It's not just scouting. We can't pay top price for players at their peak, so like with Walker, we have to invest 8 years into developing prospects.

Terrible idea. We need to hold on to our best players and Walker is the best right back in the league. And if Walker goes and wins a title you would be naive to think the likes of Rose, Toby and Dele and co will not want to "consider their options". And then we will be tarnished with the reputation as a selling team and everybody will hark back to how we always sell our best players - Carrick, Modric, Berbatov and Bale etc.

It is not like we have a history of always spending our money wisely - just look at some of the dross we bought with the Bale money.

There comes a time when you simply draw a line in the sand and say No, we ain't selling, end off.
It wasn't an idea, I was simply saying it wouldn't be the end of the world if Walker did leave because in Trippier we have someone who slots into the role perfectly and has proved himself to be a bloody good performer too....

Sadly it dont work like that.......read what Poch is now saying about Dele....if the price is right hes off, sadly.

I think Dele is as important to Spurs as Harry and Levy knows that. Zero chance of us selling either player this summer and unlikely before we start in our new stadium

you are talking fiction mate. Poch said the following:

I cannot guarantee anything in life. Most important is to enjoy the present.

I am so sad, we have to enjoy the present and not think about the future.

In the future we take the best decision for the club. After three years you can see how the team is improving every year and all our decisions so far are good.

Trust in the club that we will take the best decision for the club to achieve, to improve next season again, that's most important.

We care a lot about the club and now we must focus on the present to try to help the team and club to be there if Chelsea drop points.

In the next three to four weeks we must give our best, big efforts for all of us, for the players to try to focus, don't think about holidays, rumours, what will happen next season.

I want the last three to four weeks the big effort from everyone to achieve. Then we can congratulate everyone and try next season.

No mention of Dele Alli.

When asked about Dele staying, he replied as you quoted.
It's all newspaper rubbish anyway!
But I do not think any player is off limits

We do need trophies but our progression over the last few seasons buys us time in that regards. The players can see the improvements everywhere, on and off the pitch,so no need to jump ship yet. I reckon most if not all will stay for another couple of seasons and then maybe reassess their future.
We are not paying top wages but we can afford 100k+ for our top earners. It is not chump change.

Ultimately we will need to put a trophy on the sideboard or players will leave though.

This for me as well, i have said elsewhere that next season is the crunch time for our growing team. We need to win something and it has to be next year otherwise i fear some of our players will be looking elsewhere.

"I'm so sad" is a bit concerning. Walker is one of those who is at his peek now, just turning 27. We would only sell at close to Bale money.

I think everyone's off limits unless the club wants to get rid or the player wants to leave - and even then it won't be straightforward. I'm certain we'll avoid selling to PL rivals and squeeze every little penny out of potential sales, just like we did with Bale and Modric

Levy is no fool; keep this squad more or less together for a few years, and we could be off to a flying start in the new stadium. I don't for a second believe he will sell players for a short term financial gain; he sees much further than that.

I think what you have to take into consideration is how well we're now performing as a team. I'm under no illusion we'll keep this exact side together forever, but the fact that the squad is so accustomed to playing together and to our playing style, is likely to affect players' desire to leave, IMO. And obviously the fact that we perform at such a high level, and look able to challenge for trophies. You don't get that togetherness very often in your playing career, I

Danny boy will NOT sell unless he has no other option. But I'm not sure what he can do if a players want out, other than sell into another league and for the maximum price.

After the Bale sale I now refuse to get to attached to any player at Spurs they are all 'just passing through.......

True that. I think we might see another Modric situation, where for instance City - doing it the right way, you know - offer ridiculous money for one of our players and Levy refuse to sell, after which said player end up abroad. Them or Manure. I think it will be one of the Manchesters that might try to stir brick up with us, because Chelski know very well we don't do business with them, and both Pool and Arse are not in a situation to tempt any of our best players away at the moment. (not that Arse would be an option anyway)
