Anybody ever been, if yes did you enjoy it, looks a pucker place, were there for a friday and saturday night ???

My month long Oz trip has had to be curtailed, down to 2 1/2 weeks now due to my pal not being able to get the time off work

Leaving 20/12 going to KL for 2 nights then heading to Melbourne for Xmas, 4th test then off to Sydney on 30/12 for NYE and the 5th test

Ive found some pucker hotels in KL in the city centre including the one that some of Skyfall was filmed in

Booked the hotel in the link, for 2 nights for a twin room it was £250 odd, bargain

Yes, but only for one night on a trip down for business from Singapore. Thought KL was great. I quite like Singapore as a stop on the kangaroo routes, but it is a bit - alright, very - sterile compared to KL!

Didn't do too much partying on account of having meetings the next morning, but did have a very good dinner and lunch, accompanied by beer at a very reasonable rate on an open air terrace.

The airport is a long way from KL, but you go past Sepang as I recall en route - if F1 interests you.

yes, nice city to spend a couple of days in - didn't really hit the town as such when i was there so can't help you in that respect but as a place to walk around and soak up the culture/atmosphere - it's great.

I thought it was more line 60km from the airport to the city? All a bit hazy now, but seemed quite a lot further than 35km.

Sorry me being thick its 57km's so 35 miles im getting confuddled

The KLIA Ekspres service officially began operations on 14 April 2002 connecting Kuala Lumpur with the Kuala Lumpur International Airport. The non-stop 57 kilometer journey takes around 28 minutes with trains departing at 15 minute intervals during peak hours and 20 minute intervals during off-peak hours.

IN hahah

Beach Club, 97 Jalan P Ramlee - Open-air club done up to look like a cheap beachside bar, this is the city's most infamous meat market and pickup joint. The club advertises itself as "Voted Best Bar in Asia" and is busy most nights. Popular with tourists and the well-dressed middle-aged crowd. Weekends often have great live bands but there may be DJs. Frequented by many girls of the night that are after money; not a good place for female tourists. RM50 for men, RM40 for women include 2 drinks.

my son is in Kuala Lumpar right now but I cant get hold of him, it 8 hours in front of us so he`s either in bed or still in a club!

i've been. Traffic is a nightmare but there are many taxis, and a one way system around the city so make sure you are on the right side of the road.

Trips up the towers sell out early, I got there at like 11am and it was sold out. The attached mall has lots of stuff. The towers are very cool when lit up at night.

The Pavillion nearby has loads of bars and restaurants, although i'm sure there are other places too.

The china town street market is good fun for knock off stuff, some very good.. always haggle.

It's hot and humid most of the time. The airport is far from the city, but easily manageable. Don't get a taxi though, it'll probably be quite expensive.

I really liked KL, would go back tomorrow.

Im staying 5 mins from the towers, so seems a decent location for everything, the train is an easy win from the airport at RM25 each way

you need to be at the towers at like 7 am to get the tickets, i believe. you only go half way up to the viewing platform which connects the two buildings, another option would be the KL Tower which is open all day and has a fantastic view of the City (including the Petronas Towers)

yep, and you get a very good view of the towers themselves from just in front where there is some kind of water feature, if it's photo ops you want.

Ive been - fudgein hated that brick.

We went out constantly in an area where the hard rock cafe was (not sure if its still there). Its a great setting - the people (admittedly generalising here) were all ****s. Obviously I had a bad experience as most people on here like it.

Beach Club is a meat market but you might like that?

For the best view, must go to SkyBar at Traders Hotel.

For nightlife I like Heritage Row near the Sheraton. Maison used to be really good, not sure what it's like nowadays - http://www.maison.com.my/

Otherwise there's always the infamous Zouk club.

Pavilion for shopping, pubs to watch footy.

Lot 10 Hutong in the centre of town for local delicacies in a clean environment.

I went there for a couple of nights on my Honeymoon last year, we were at the Park Royal and it was really nice.

If you like a bit of culture then get to the Batu caves, it's about 20-30 minutes in a cab from the town center it's a spectacular place with a 140ft high gold statue and lots of monkeys running about.

There's also the Petronas towers for a good view of the city and they have a fountain display there as well which me and the Mrs liked.

It did seem to really liven up of an evening but as I was on my honeymoon I was tucked up in bed instead of out enjoying the clubs so I can't help you there.

Stayed at the Grand Millenium for a couple of nights on a school rugby tour going back 5 years now. Loved the city, didn't have an awful lot of time to do too much as had booked trips out a bit water rafting etc. but it is a lovely city. The Petronas towers are superb, and it has a massive shopping center beneath it.
