Jose Mourinho - SACKED

I'm no Mourinho fan and the recent performances have surprised even me at how inept we've looked.
I'll always support whoever is in charge until they leave or get the sack despite what I'm seeing on the pitch. The players need to be more accountable too, so many errors in nearly every game are costing us.
Jose goes, who do we get?

Players always make mistakes when it comes to the end of the managers time - it probably relates to not being fully focussed and bought in to the system or whatever

He's done. Only question is when Levy pulls the trigger.

I don't blame old Dan for any of this. Not his fault Mourinho turned out to be a pathetic busted flush ten years too outdated for football today.

But I do blame him for sacking Poch to begin with. If we were to have a couple of years of dross, I would rather it be with a man I utterly respect and admire over...this utter sod.

Anyway, sack him. Get Rangnick.
I blame Dan for a lot of it.... Took the best manager we’ve had since Burkinshaw, didn’t back him like he deserved for 4 years and then when finally giving him similar backing to our rivals, didn’t have the balls to give him time to see the rebuild through.

yeah, with every other club, easily

our problem during the ENIC Project has been getting over the line, appointing a manager with a track record of doing so was the logical choice, over that same time period there was no better example of a wining manager

I actually agree with your logic here. Levy wanted a proven winner and it hasn’t paid off, I don’t blame him for trying. That said, he’s not the best manager in the game anymore like he was alongside Fergie for a few years. He’s been overtaken/left behind by Simeone, Pep, Klopp, Flick. I’m sure there are others I missed. Can you name a top team that plays the same way we do? All the best teams these days play attacking football and take the game to the opposition. Football is cyclical but at the moment, the top teams all play attacking football.

And let’s be brutally honest, if he was still an elite manager he wouldn’t be at Spurs.

You have a point but they've been making mistakes since the season started.

Not if we properly support him with a decent quality squad. We've come a damn sight closer to winning with that type of manager than your AVB and Mourinho type.

true, but shot ourselves in the foot with a lack of pragmatism at key points

it's like we need a special teams manager too

Mourinho apologists.... what is it that you see from our team after over a year of the manager being here that makes you think he is the right man for us?

What do you think about Tuchel being at Chelsea for a mere 2 weeks and his team already looking better coached than ours?

Think you forget that when Mourinho first came in we went on a great run taking us to within a smidgen of fourth. Ironically it was losing at home to Chelsea when it started to go wrong. Son was sent off and banned. Then Kane and then Son and then Bergwyn got injured leaving us with precicely zero attacking options. Also, only a few weeks ago we were top of the table.

Don't get me wrong, I hate this defensive first football, but Mourinho has had bursts of success with it. Even with us.

If true that Bayern are getting Nagelsmann or whatever his name is this is the bloke I'd give the job to. Herr Flick lol

there isn't anything else, we've tried everything now

Where does Levy go from here, unless there is some miracle turn around under Jose the project has failed

I'm starting to think we need to complete the transition that this team was always meant to be.

When Levy hired Poch, he wanted a yes- man to keep us bobbing around 5th - 6th place while the stadium was being built.

Poch worked miracles and built a title-challenging squad ahead of time. But piece by piece, we lost it because we couldn't afford to keep it going when the stadium was being built - Levy wouldn't spend to take us over the line when it mattered. And when the taps came on, it was too late - a transitory team meant to bridge the gap to our new team in a new stadium had been filled with utterly useless dross like Aurier, Davies, Dier and Sissoko, and the few world class players (Kane and Son) couldn't sustain it.

I think there is only one thing left to do - bin them all, and start over with a proper team for a proper stadium. Unfortunately that may mean losing some players who will want out like Son and Kane, but let's be honest, they were going to want out anyway.

Just...start over, as we did in the summer of 2014. With a new manager, young faces, new players.

Finish the transition.

But not with Mourinho. Sack him now, today, in the next fudging hour, because he is a Championship-level manager now. Get someone else in for the rebuild. Ralf Rangnick. Julien Nagelsmann. Marcelino. Marcelo Gallardo.

I might be dead by then, the win window is closing, we've fudged it

We always think this, that the win window is closing. But we keep getting closer, the gap is closing despite the current awful team.

You know I'm a big cycling fan and I like how the cycle teams plan for a couple years into the future.

The 2022 season with a world cup in the middle of it is the year we will win. You need to buy the best players who are unlikely to feature in it with their national team.

Mark my words, 2022 is the year.

Have they? More than other clubs? Is that why our goals conceded is pretty reasonable?
It is reasonable but how many were good goals and how many were penalties, stupid decisions, poor positioning, etc. I'd say nearly all of them bar Lanzini.
