Jose Mourinho - SACKED

This is interesting during training. Mou is mind fudging Ali already I see. Also note that he is quite tactile with a lot of the players, trying to break the ice and form a relationship. And he walks off training talking to Kane, recognising him as the leader and a confidant.

Also, Erik Dier could be our new free kick taker o_O

I noticed that. I communicate for a living and this guy; you can see what he's doing as he walks around the players, using touch, making them feel special. you're right, alli gets special treatment with the slap in the chest, smile and hug..... i think alli will get chewed out a lot in public this season and you'll see his devil come out again on the field

Not sure it's the same (remains unresolved).

Assuming we are talking about Jan, Toby, Eriksen, Rose

- Jan I think is resolved if Jose wants him, Jan never had a problem with Spurs, this season it seemed a problem with Poch
- Toby and Eriksen are the same, bad advice backed them in a corner and the clubs expected to come in and get them never materialized. Jose has actually wanted both of them in the past. They have a get out of the corner pass if they want it.
- Rose is probably at the end of his rope, not discplined enough defensively for Jose, his PR is constant irritation for the club and he has tried to leave in past. The only conversation here will be take the next offer because unlike Poch we won't play you if you are not committed.

Said it before, could see Jan and Toby doing 1 or 2 year extensions, Eriksen and Rose leaving. Jose may chose to have a conversation with Eriksen to give a shot of doing a "Modric style" last year.

The problem Jan had -as I was told- was the length of contract offered. He wanted two years, we would only give him one more. Again, Eriksen did not have problem with the manager as I was told, two years ago he wanted to go to Barcelona and continually held out for them through the end of last season when he accepted that perhaps it would have to be Real Madrid. He turned down Athletico. Where I think there might have been issues with Poch would've been on Poch's side, where he possibly took Eriksen's refusal to sign too personally, although by last summer he was ready to see him leave. Toby? Yeah. Aside from his greed and VVD prism, I think it is fair to say he and Poch crossed daggers a few times and love was not altogether lost, although they did always recover.

I am fascinated to see what he does with Rose, because of all of them, Rose is exactly his type of player; I think you might be surprised there, especially if he decides to tell Rose to be more defensive and looks to fit Sess in too!

Well, 48 hours in and the train is steaming ahead, running at full-throttle.

I am still personally alarmed at how fast so many can push Poch into the rear-view mirror, and who can indeed simply find ways to mitigate their speedy forgetting of his work, but there we go, life is life and all that...JM has certainly come in saying the right things and behaving the right way. I have heard a lot of noise from friends who would know about the sheer level of his dedication to learning everything about our club and history. I have a deeper feeling about what will happen long term, but am simply going to push that off and support MY team and all it is doing. I won't sing his name. But I will still support MY team and hope he gets what he needs to make us tick. COYS.

Mate...personally, I'm focusing on Mourinho too.

I'll tell you why. Because if I think back to Poch, the rage and sadness about what we've done to the man who gave everything for us come flowing right back, until I'd rather not think about our club anymore.

For me, and for a lot of our fans right now, focusing on Mourinho keeps our minds off Poch. Nothing more to it.

So come on, mate. We have a game tomorrow, and in mid-week, and on from there.

The club needs all of us. At least for now. And, like good little soldiers, we have a job to do for as long as we're asked to do it by the club we can't help but call our own - no matter how much it changes from what we once knew.

As for Mourinho, he's saying all the right things. But time will tell, and for me, he'll just be 'Mourinho' until he proves otherwise.

I am with you, in a strong sense also taking a bit of strength from what you're saying because it is very much around the area I am at. I think we are in almost total agreement on every single facet of this past week.
COYS! indeed and again your posts this week have been (for me personally anyway) extremely helpful.

Did you see the video of Mourinho's first training session that the club put out? There's a bit at the end where he goes around ruffling the hair and stroking the necks of some of the players. I was going "get your dirty hands off Poch's players!".

Further to this @thfcsteff, have you watched Jose's presser in full? It made me feel weirdly okay about the whole situation.. As @DubaiSpur had mentioned, it's not because I want to forget Poch or undermine what he's done, it's because I need to carry on supporting my club and this is a good way to distract myself. As paradoxical as that may sound.

There will be moments along the way where I yearn for Poch, probably the first time Mourinho says something utterly classless and clamy, but this is my team now. And I gotta roll with it. The players seem happy...

We share the exact same views on this, Steff. You're very welcome, but please bear in mind that your relentless positivity helped me through some dark times, as we've spoken of in the past.

You've been positive when it was easier not to be, and you cared about the human aspect of football and our story with Poch when it was easier to forget it. Sadly, that means you're hurting on this more than other folks, so I want to make sure you're okay - because we need you to be yourself again in the months and years to come.

Don't forget how much of a difference your positivity makes, mate. Because it really does make a difference.

Nobody is forgetting what Poch did for us. However I am sure he will not be pining for us when he - pretty soon I predict - will be in the dugout of another big team; possibly even an EPL rival. That is the reality of modern day football. The chances of a Bill Nicholson is almost impossible. So we move on...

Just like when you break up a relationship, however, you start to reevaluate your relationship. If the breakup is reasonably amicable, there is no bitterness but - in the cold light of day - you look back and realise that that there were issues that you maybe glossed over in the warmth of the relationship. That does not infer any slight to your previous partner. And it's the same with Poch... there were great, stellar moments which I will cherish to my dying days: Amsterdam, Wembley against Real, Turin against Juventus. But it is a fact that Poch was never able to get us across that threshold from plucky losers to trophy winners... and he had more than enough chances.

That is why I an enthusiastic about Jose's appointment - something I had wanted before Poch but never thought I would see. If the guy managed two trophies with a crap Manure side, we must have a lot of hope for the coming few seasons before he invariably moves on.

your positivity is a massive credit to your good self and it should never change, your loyalty is also something to be admired.

As mentioned before you were the first to welcome me on here, it’s why it was so damn hard to debate with you.

But debate we did and I’m sure we might again, even so it’s important to me personally that you know I admire your character and qualities.

keep being steff mate, wouldn’t want it any other way.

beautiful summing up.

I really really hope poch takes a break and doesn’t take up another post until at least next season, he needs it I think and he’d be making a mistake if he did.
