Jazz clubs in London?

Need suggestions guys..

My cousin has come here from America and he's heavily into Jazz music. I want to take him to a good Jazz club in London tomorrow....anyone know any good venues?

There is one place on Dover St, near Regents St but I can't for the life of me remember the name of it......try googling Dover St Jazz bar and it might return something.

I googled 'jazz clubs in london' and that was the first thing that came up. Is it any good?

In all honesty mate I have never been but I did the same thing as you. The reviews looked pretty good. I reckon most Jazz Clubs in London would all be pretty similar.

my mate has been to RS a couple of times and reckons it's good - but then i don't think he's much of a Jazz enthusiast

Jazz Cafe in Camden is another of the more popular ones

Ronnie Scott's is excellent, as is The Jazz Cafe but double-check there is actual jazz playing the night you want to go!

Ronnie Scott's is legendary...Pigalle is great if you're into 40's burlesque style with your jazz...a great vibe...fun night out IMHO...

I once went to Ronnie Scott's and rate it. Not the biggest venue and hard to get in on popular nights if you aren't on the guest list. Might be worth trying to book a table there.

Hideaway in Streatham is ok

Im not a big fan of Jazz but the venue is cool. Ronnie Scotts is most renowned but doesnt always equate to being the best. Been to both and Hideaway is alittle better.

I was working there back in 2007. The owner is a massive Arsenal fan, he's got 4 ST in the Library, the best seats you can get there. His sons were close friends with Aliadiere. (Very good lads btw)
The club is quite good, the place was usually full (the tiny dance floor was a bit annoying). The best place to pick up ladies over 35, who are still fit enough (trust me;))

Haha.....having nudged into the post 30 age bracket I shall have to bear what you have said in mind and pay it a little visit!

Cheers for the help guys. He knew all about Ronnie Scott's and we decided that was the place to go but we arrived late and tickets were sold out. Luckily we met up with a few mates and ended up going to some pub/bar in London Fields which was actually pretty damn good.
