Jamie Donley

At youth level he showed great awareness of teammates position and space on field, he looked like he knew what he was going to do with the ball before he got it. Hes not quick but he thinks and acts quickly.

I agree. I am actually really surprised we are not seeing that vision as a squad asset this season, especially given the fact we are currently in need of some fudging bifocals in order to find our forwards with anything other than great galloping runs or long balls!!!!

Donley looks physically ready to me from the handful of Orient games I saw last season. He's really good playing in that pivot/#10 position, holding off big defenders coming in from behind and finding runners in the channels. He's also left footed, which is something almost unique in our squad. The player he reminds me of more than anyone is Teddy.

Re the CL point - there's actually a lot of crap teams in that. Other than the other 11 super league clubs mostly being in the CL, the rest can sometimes be much of a muchness with the EL sides.

It makes the decision to loan him all the more baffling.
Clearly he does not fit the immediate needs for Frank, and we can only therefore assume that either
a) we are going to rabbit/hat a creative attacking midfielder pronto or
b) all our attacking play is going to be based on counter attack speed
