ITK Thread

You think it was maybe a joke Steff?

Who knows? He clearly isn't into ITKs (I get that) and makes it clear he wouldn't be for a couple of reasons (I get that). But using AIDS in your punchline ain't funny to me mate, thus I said my piece. COYS.

If people weren't allowed to make jokes about things that have affected someone on the planet, the world would be a dull place... Not the place for a discussion though I guess... Let's move on...

Anyways. I like ITK. Don't believe it necessarily, but it's always fun to speculate and dream!

Getting schneiderlin would also be a dream. And quickly as its so desperate.

We can wait for a winger and striker to the end of the transfer window if need be.

woah

sorry Steff, it was hyperbolic nonsense to punctuate a point (as it quite clearly isn't)

I'll say cancer next time, as that's killed half my family so far so I guess I can joke about that with impunity right?

in not gonna report you, (why would I?), if you've reported me fair enough, it was, as has been suggested, merely a joke, all jokes offend someone, and there is humour in any situation if you are open to it, there are far worse (and far smarter) in the random joke thread, I suggest you don't read it

ok, past my bedtime, when I'm 13 maybe I'll be allowed to stay up later, or maybe when I finally pass the eleven plus

You clearly won't pass your 11+ after that brainless Aids comment. Prepare for a life of zero hour contracts

Fair enough and apologies for taking it as such. It struck a nerve. I asked folks if I had been OTT and the concensus was 'yes'.

Jokes are great and if you read the thread you refer to, you'll see I love it. But this one hit me wrong. Yeah yeah 'PC-boy' and whatever (not the case) but this is the problem with the internet, context is lost and things come across poorly to others sometimes.

But again, random quip on your part and overreaction on mine. Ironically I find cancer easier on the joke front, even though much like you it has affected my life significantly.

As for passing the eleven-plus, don't bother, overrated!

JJetset on Spurs Community reckons the press links to Mirallas and McCarthy at Everton are being pushed by their agents, however, he reckons there is truth in the links, we are interested in both players and the deals could happen. He also reckons McCarthy is more 'straightforward' while Mirallas happening is dependent on a variety of other things happen.

Personally, whether you believe him or not, I do like both players. I think Mirallas is a player that always seems to put pressure on your defence whenever he's played us. He is always making a nuisance of himself and can score from anywhere. So I can see why Poch would like him.

McCarthy has been interesting us long-term, however I can also see why Poch would like him, as he's a similar player to Mason IMO. He's tigerish and works very hard. So would allow more rotation/rest/tactical options in terms of the squad depth, which we lacked last season (in terms of players that suited Poch's system).

I like mirallas a lot, I'm just not sure if he's what we need. I think we need a bit more pace. Doesn't mirallas play in the same position as chadli? Both score good goals. Neither pacey. Although Not identical they feel too similar.

As for McCarthy. Not sure he's that similar to mason, good work rate, but McCarthys much more defensive. I don't rate either, but McCarthy is the better player. It's a stupid amount of money for a marginal upgrade.

I like mirallas as well but an Everton supporting mate says he always plays better against us than anyone else

I've always thought Mirallas to be pretty rapid, not sure he's a player I'd want but if he's not pacey then not many players are imo.

Mirallas, the second cabbage from the cryptic clue ages ago.

Given how long we'd been linked to both Alderweireld & Mirallas, why the need for any cryptic clues? Definitely more attention seeking... play games to make people think, try to get them to spend more time deliberating the self importance of the content that has been posted... and then find out when taking the wrapper off the cryptic clue, that the clue is as yielding as a Kinder Egg. Really, what's the point? There's a reason why Kinder Eggs appear to be rarer these days than they used to be, and there's a reason why people dislike ITK nonsense.

Really dont see that Mirallas adds much to us. Need someone with a bit of pace - we really lack pace up top

I don't especially want to reveal names but I'm fairly decent mates with a footballer in a Premier League squad.

That player had some friends around his pad last night, and I was one of them. There were 7 other well known footballers there, one of whom plays for Spurs.

We all talked and a lot of interesting things were said, but obviously I was interested in what the Spurs player knew.

So, here are some tidbits.

Lloris, Kane and Vertonghen will be our captains next season.
Nabil Bentaleb is unreal in training and is now better paid than Kane, Vertonghen, and a few other big names.
DeAndre Yedlin is actually quite good in training, but it took him 3 months or so to get used to the pace as apparently Sounders training was tinkle poor by comparison.
Stambouli wasn't actually part of a clique causing trouble. He hung out with them because he's French and Hugo is a bit insular.
Jesus Perez and Poch are a hilarious double act, and D'Agostino is a bit of a tough bastard with the players.
No-one at the club likes Kaboul, but they all respectED him hence electing him captain last season.
Everyone knows the club want Schneiderlin. This is why Dembele wants reassurances.
Soldado is an absolute beast in training and never misses. The club are desperate for him to succeed - and noone can figure out what's wrong.
Jan Vertonghen is the most popular player in the squad - the Alderweireld deal was in part to improve the club and in part to keep Vertonghen happy (he's not been happy with his CB partners)

And one of the players there is a Soton player, who said that Schneiderlin doesn't want to move to United: because he wants to play 38 games in a season, not be one of 6 or 7 top class midfielders.
He misses Pochettino and his training methods, and he wants to move to London.
The Soton player told me that Schneiderlin will be a Spurs player.

that is true ITK. well done, some really interesting stuff there

Unfortunately, no matter how much Poch wants Schneiderlin and Schneiderlin wants Spurs, the financials of the deal will be the downfall of any deal. Like ive said before, if both sides are so willing then the deal would have been done or close to being done by now. As far as we know, Spurs havent even made a bid this summer. Says it all to me

thanks for the info anyway

Even if you are just giving us some illusory hope....bless you for trying, and let's hope that last bit comes true. :D
