The issue here is that bringing someone who is massively divisive into the argument does nothing for bringing all this hate to an end, it makes it worse.

Anti Semitism and Islamophobia is on the rise in the country and rather than acting like a calming voice in the storm too many are pouring oil on the flames to advance their own profile. I find it massively problematic with no sight of an end.

But lets be real, there is a reason he now sides with Israel because of a common enemy. Considering in the 80s and 90s my Jewish Grandparents were abused in London where they lived by NF and EDL types, I am less than convinced on the authenticity of his support.

People like him are not friends of us Jews and TBH I don't need or want someone like him and their faux support. If anything it incites more hatred towards us given his profile

The issue is, that Israel and Palestine is not indicative of how many Jews here see Islam and vice versa, thats the message thats being weaponised and making people lives on both sides harder. People picking a side like its football when many of us jews have Muslim mates and colleagues

Last thing I will say on this because honestly its consumed too much of mine and families lives and conversations. There is a stark difference IMO with a minster of Israel standing shoulder to shoulder with Yaxley than there is being a day to day British Jew, thankfully many of us know what he is

Israel is a terror state. Much like Afghanistan under the Taliban. They can have Tommy.

Its scary how Israel v Palestine has manifested itself here as another Jews v Muslim argument, not fuelled ironically by many Jews or Muslims but those who make a name being divisive.

I hope it never feels that way from my side. I genuinely would be mortified. And you are right. But I can tell you that anti semitism is as rife as ever unfortunately. I will challenge it every time brother.

Yeh man, I see it rife now, its horrendous, its opened up to a largely more hateful society where I also see Racism in general rising and alot of racism by association, in that I have heard people speak about being a migrant because they are brown. We live in sh1t times

In some ways the Israeli regime allaying with the British National Front might help improve the separation of British Jews from that government in everybody's eyes. Hopefully there will be a lot more of this type of thing: https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news...israeli-minister-invite-tommy-robinson-israel

I do think this is part of the problem. For quite a while now the Israeli government has tried to escape censure by claiming any criticism of it is anti-semitism (some of it was but not all) but this now means that people feel enabled to attack any jew and claim it is an attack on the Israeli government/country.

Hopefully the two can be properly seperated again.

And equally the rest of the world needs to talk up the moderate Israelis. People should be venerating Yitzhak Rabin and trying to revive his vision

The vision that Hamas opposed at the time?

If they're not going to go for it, what's the point? No point in compromising if you'll just have to keep fighting them anyway.
