Someone was saying on the radio the other day that the Liverpool medical team said the Plymouth pitch was a concern and told Slot it could cause injuries and that is why he rotated the whole team and didn't risk barely any first teamer. Not sure if true but was interestingI notice Gomez at Liverpool got a repeat hamstring injury at Plymouth after weeks off.
It happens.
Yeah Zirkzee had some solid moments - he has good qualities. I wonder if he regrets leaving Serie A.A manager not using players he doesn't trust at a time of injury problems and the team struggling for form... Unheard of.
Zirkzee looked quite good, but kind of looks like a player that doesn't quite suit any role.
He probably quadrupled his salary so maybe… but maybe notYeah Zirkzee had some solid moments - he has good qualities. I wonder if he regrets leaving Serie A.
That rubbish Arne Slot ignoring his medical team and playing players beyond the red-line eh?I notice Gomez at Liverpool got a repeat hamstring injury at Plymouth after weeks off.

All teams that aren't right at the top level will have some bad performances. One could pick out bad performances when teams have few injuries for every team in the league other than Liverpool and maybe Arsenal.I wrote a while back that whilst there's been a lot of complaints about our injury crisis, in some cases we have had nearly full teams and still been absolute brick. Ipswich at home as an example had Vicario, Romero, Solanke all fit and playing, only VDV from the first XI missed out and we lost 2-1 at home.
I worried then that the "injuries" perspective wasn't entirely valid, and in many ways a lot of the deep 'Ange In' supporters were a bit blindsided by it to excuse the performances. Last night was brick and it wasn't down to injuries.
Agree re the number 9, but we did(do) have 120m+ of talent for that role in Solanke and Richy. Unfortunately Richy is just never available though, we have to replace him this summer with someone who will be.All teams that aren't right at the top level will have some bad performances. I think we look better when we have a physical presence at number 9. I'd say that it is imperative that we sign that type of player this summer so that we're not completely reliant on Solanke. Liam Delap would be perfect. Him and a top class defensive minded midfielder and the squad is pretty well set, other than another left back option (Mitchell on a free from Palace would do pretty nicely there)
It’s why I wouldn’t sign tel and would get DelapAll teams that aren't right at the top level will have some bad performances. One could pick out bad performances when teams have few injuries for every team in the league other than Liverpool and maybe Arsenal.

I suspect Tel has been signed as a long term replacement for Son.It’s why I wouldn’t sign tel and would get Delap
Similar ish money but one is ready now
I suspect Tel has been signed as a long term replacement for Son.
I expect a few outgoings this summer so I think we should still have money for Delap and a proper defensive midfielder. Especially if we are able to bring Mitchell in on a free to provide competition at left back. I don't think we need much more than that.
I think he may get loaned out.Where does Moore fit in then
Long term?I think he may get loaned out.
Fighting for a position in the team if he turns out good enough. Just like everyone else.Long term?

Might have helped having Lloris, Walker, Jan, Toby, Rose, Dembele, Dier, Wanyama behind themI'm OK with Delap actually. He could end up a Callum Wilson or Danny Ings type player but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. He could also end up at the next level above.
I think the bigger question is why Ange's system is so broken without a Solanke type number 9? I remember the times when Kane was missing. Poch just dealt with it and put a system together with guys Dele, Son, Eriksen, Lamela etc. The goals kept coming and in some ways it was enjoyable watching the solution.
Why does Ange keep getting a pass for these gaps in his management skillset. It's not our fault he ignores so many chapters of the manager playbook. Where are his solutions to very normal problems? We've spent hundreds of millions.

Dele, Son, Eriksen are better than any possible solutions we have now also.
Lol
