@TSF: Injuries in the Premier League last season... pic.twitter.com/LTgUAVooui
Id love the know the underlying problem behind the above stats, do we buy injury prone players, our medical staff are **** or were just unlucky ???
Hopefully this season we will buck the trend. Who knows what might have happened if we had only had half the injuries we have had in the last 5 seasons.
I know other teams can say the same, its just we are constantly up there near the top, but a few less injuries each season could be the difference from getting an extra point or 2 in certain games
Look how lucky LFC were this season with injuries
Playing fewer games than just about everyone else in the league probably helped, what with Liverpool having had no European fixtures plus getting knocked out of both domestic cups in the early rounds.
Chelsea manager*Jose Mourinho club physio Eva Carneiro took part at an event at the University College London last week.
The event, titled the*UEFA Injury Study meeting, saw Chelsea’s Special One address a crowd on the importance of medical staff in a modern day football team.
As reported by*Jan Ekstrand, a*Professor of Sports Medicine and the vice chairman of the UEFA Medical Committee, Mourinho told the audience that*team success is not possible without a shared philosophy between the manager and club doctors.
Moreover, Mourinho said that doctors are no part of a medical department inside a club. Instead they need to be viewed as integral members of the technical staff.
